Tech demo for average speed, in pixels. The max entries variable is the number of previous X/Y values that the project stores to calculate speed. Higher values are less sensitive, but may not be the most accurate. Lower values are more sensitive, but are quicker to adjust. The cat will say the current mag variable (which is the speed), as well as move up and down to represent the current speed.
