I am more than willing to drop all my life savings just to see this in London opening night and I am not even joking. Those movies are genuinely masterpieces and the books are national treasures. If Matilda proved anything it’s that Britain is dang good at making classic stories amazing musicals. I’ve never been out of the country before, but I can’t think of a better reason to change that than this show. Not to mention now I know for sure it’s in good hands ( https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c793l125gwvo.amp ) I genuinely can’t wait till November. This is literally what my Pokemon evolution cycle as a theater kid has been leading up to; my all-time favorite film trilogy (that also holds a special place in my heart) becoming a musical. When the cast album for this thing eventually comes out, I’m gonna be so tempted to listen to it but I wanna actually see the show first, so I’m probably gonna have to physically restrain myself from listening to but My musical playlist has been starving for new songs recently and all I’ve had to offer is Cats.
