This, this is a REAL sea serpent. This behemoth, Palaeophis, was estimated to be around 27-40 feet, or 8.1-12.3 meters. it was discovered in North America, and is presumed to be a piscivore, but I like to think it ate other things, like the massive pelagornis. Sadly, we do not know anything about this eocene titan, as we have only ever discovered vertebrae from it. what we do know, is that it was related to other massive creatures, such as the pterosphenus, and little known fact: snakes are actually related to the water terrors of the mesozoic, mosasaurs. And to make it even more deadly? The largest species, Palaeophis collosaeus, had the most potent venom in the entire genus palaeophiidae. The genus' venom types could include torpidity-inducing venom, stamina-draining venom, an armor-destroying acid, and a deadly toxin that caused rapid [LOSS OF LIFE].
