floppy disk is nostalgic technology used to store data. invented in late 1960s. in late 1960s floppy disk were size of 8 inch (20 cm) but this is called floppy disk because 8 inch floppy disk were flexible and called floppy disk. but later changed to 5.25 inch (13 cm) floppy disk because it's small but in 1980s 3.5 inch (8 cm )floppy disk came around and pc start adopting and floppy disk is iconic save button. but it's only 1.44 mb and third party added superfloppy. but floppy disk is obsolete in 2000s and replaced by usb flash drive. floppy disk is used in 1960s and early 2000s
