The new refurb sucks in so many ways... So much rare and cool stuff has been ruined, including some rare swing door lifts, DEVE lifts, Otis Europa 2000's, Otis Series 1, Orona's, EcoDisc's, TK's, some decent generics and Gen2's, Simplex fire alarm systems, EST Integrities, Gentex Commanders, cool voice evacs and tones, Dell Latitude's, Precision's, Optiplexes, PowerEdge's, Lenovo ThinkPad's, ThinkCentre's, ThinkStation's, ThinkServers, some decent HP's and older upgradable Mac's aswell, Viessmann and Toshiba HVAC's and more cool stuff... Another bad news: The hospital is starting to ditch their incredibly reliable Dell and Lenovo business class PC's in favor of brand new HP's which are far from being as good as the older ones. Plus, there's a set of 3 Kone EcoDisc MX20 MRL traction freight lifts from 2007 over there and guess what. The middle lift is currently being replaced with a new generic Kotori Minami lift which is MR hydraulic and uses IMEM Ascensores logic! They also have plans to replace the awesome 2007 Siemens fire alarm system with either Silent Knight or Gamewell FCI garbage. Also, the voice evac system at this school plays the Notifier slow whoop tone 3 times, then it plays the annoying Notifier message that goes "There has been a fire alarm reported in the building" 10 times, then it plays the slow whoop 3 times, etc... This is very odd and unlike the previous fire alarm system, there are no low-frequency tones on the speakers located in the sleeping areas and there are no low-frequency alarm sounders in those areas which makes this system non compliant and that is absolutely disgusting! Also, I've heard that the John Lennon high school and the Brightwater middle school will renew their admin staff! Let's hope they will not replace the fire alarms, IT stuff and the lifts since they all work perfectly fine... The refurb that took place in 2023-2025 (And 1 building is still under refurbishment BTW) also happened here because of new admin staff. BTW, the lift cabs now have hidden speakers in the ceiling since the mods and they are connected to the PA system and fire alarm voice evac system.

This is one of the many lifts at the Benjamin Franklin 3 in 1 school in El Garcia, ST. This is the largest school complex of EG which includes, a middle school, a high school and a university. The building featured in this project is part of the university hence the name "U5" and was built in 2007. The lift was originally a nice big Orona hydraulic lift which is built like a tank (Big heavy duty chassis and 2 hydraulic rams) but it got horridly modernized in late 2024 by Jackson with stupid Lester Controls logic! BLERGH! Why did the lift got modded? Turns out, some (censored) decided it was a good idea to renovate the entire school complex, although, all of the existing installations are compliant to all regulations and stuff because the buildings from the 90's, 80's, 70's and older have all been either tastefully modernized (They did minor upgrades to most of the old lifts and they also kept most of the old DC powered fire alarm mechanical horns but they upgraded the strobes and they did some other mods so the original buildings are still interesting and compliant to the safety, accessibility and environmental regulations which is very cool) or updated in 2001-2007 and the other buildings were built in 2004, 2007, 2009, 2013 and 2019. They used very high quality stuff while refurbishing the existing stuff and building the new buildings. They also bought awesome IT stuff and used good fire alarm equipment from Simplex (And SpeakingFireGuardian), Siemens, PyroStop FireSweeper and EST. But now, nearly all of that cool stuff is gone after the full renovations that occured between 2023 and 2025. 1) All of the lifts have been very heavily modernized or replaced by Jackson using Lester Controls, Wittur and other generic stuff except from this one as they only have replaced the buttons and logic. 2) The entire fire alarm system which was an intelligent system with progressive evacuation which featured a SpeakingFireGuardian-branded Simplex 4100U panel and a SFG EvacMasterSystem 3000 evacuation panel (Both from 2004) has been completely replaced with a PIECE OF JUNK Gamewell-FCI FA system with voice evacuation and new Wheelock notification devices + the generic remote speakers (PA system which also doubles as a voice evac system). And this thing takes between 10 seconds to 4 minutes to sound off and the entire complex needs to be evacuated instead of just evacuating the impacted areas (Meaning more wasted time and the whole system has to be reset and it is a very time consuming process). 3) They ditched all the good and reliable IT equipment (Desktops, laptops, tablets and servers) and replaced everything with unreliable and/or unrepairable Kotori (Tablets and laptops), HP (Laptops, desktops and servers), some new Macs and some new iPad's. 4) The new HVAC's are now from Kotori (Formerly Toshiba and Viessmann) and they are noisy, cheap and unreliable. Plus, the new building interiors are boring, cheap and nasty stuff. The lift mod over there is really really bad indeed. The lift now looks like a generic piece of trash, takes ages to level, takes forever to charge, there is no pre-doors anymore and this thing lost so much character. Worse, this mod is actually the least garbage mod in the entire place because it's still somewhat original and it still has a nice sounding motor! The floor numbering is wrong as well (The floor numbering was correct before this mod)! Also, all of the lifts are now locked off and this lift only lets you go to floor 5. All of the call stations are locked as well except the one at floor 0 (This lift think that 0 is 2 now) and this lift also parks at the lowest floor for wathever reason. But the worst thing about this lift is that when the fire alarm goes off, the lift emergency stops and goes out of service. All of the other lifts have the same issue because of awful programming. Instead, the lifts should recall to the FSAL floor and open the doors to let the passengers out. But nope, you get trapped in the lift instead! And if you hold the alarm button for 10 seconds in order to contact Jackon Lift Group's call center and get some help, they'll laugh at you instead of helping you... Part 2 is in "Instructions".
