❝ grief is the price we pay for love ❞ marsh sat on the old stone wall, tail curled tight, head low, watching the sky turn soft and gold around the twolegplace. he didn't know where eddy was. he didn't know where glade was. he didn't know where cherry blossom was. sometimes he thought he could hear them, just around the corner, just out of reach. but he was learning, slowly, that sometimes you can't chase every ghost. ❝ don't let your thoughts get to you.. ❞ he missed briar. he loved how unique and pretty she was. but... life goes on. he whispered it to himself, like a secret, like a prayer. life goes on, even without her. and he thought about his dad, forest. his papa. his other half. his voice is only echoes now, he can't find him in the dust. but maybe it's okay. life goes on. things like this happen. that's what he told himself now. things like this happen — families get scattered, hearts get broken, and still the sun rises again the next day. still, the wind keeps blowing through the streets, still, the stars blink above the rooftops. ❝ even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise. ❞ he missed his pet rock. he hurt, of course he hurt. but he had to keep going. he had to be stronger now, because there was no other choice. you don't get to stop just because the world hurts. you don't get to pause until it feels fair. marsh lifted his head to the sky, the evening light brushing against his face, and thought — it’s just a part of life. just gotta accept it. just gotta move forward. he would miss them forever. he would love them forever. but he would survive, too. and somewhere in all of that, he knew, they would be proud. ❝ in three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: it goes on ❞
um. well. this is it. marsh is giving up hope. JKJK ... i've been meaning to write this.. even though so much has happened in his life, he has gotten so much better and learned to ACCEPT failure !! ┊credits: ★ writing by me !! ★ music: n/a
