Ah yes, this place. She was safe here. this was a place where she could just be herself. Her mom often fought with another ancient who claimed to be spinning top's other mom, but spinning top didn't consider her as one. She punished spinning top a lot, sometimes with bricks or spears, especially when spinning top talked back or disobeyed. Sometimes they yelled so loud spinning top could hear it from her bedroom. Sometimes they threw things and spinning top could occasionally hear glass shattering or the thump of something landing on the floor. They were fighting right now, but it wasn't as bad as it had been a few cycles ago when mom got really hurt and medics had to be called. Spinning top was currently playing with some plushies. She heard a loud shout, and put her mask on to block out the sound. She knew things were about to get intense. Spinning top held her favorite plushie, an old and somewhat worn doll of a light purple lizard. She didn't remember where it came from, but her mom told her that it was from her dad, who had left to go make iterators. Spinning top had no idea what an iterator is or why they took so long to make, but her mom said they were very important. She had little memory of her dad, but she vaguely remembered the night when he left when she was just a hatchling. Spinning top continued playing, humming to herself her favorite song. She heard her mom call her name. The fight must've ended, she hoped. "Coming!" She called as she got up, putting on her favorite outfit. A silver dress fading into gold, with deep blue pants underneath. Stepping out of her bedroom and walking downstairs, spinning top saw her moms and 3 other ancients she didn't recognize, though they looked important due to their gold armor and masks. "Spinning top," her mother said gently. "We have to go. Now." She spoke again, this time more harshly. "Why?" Spinning top asked. "We're doing something very important." Spinning top looked at her, curiously. "What are we doing? Can we do it later?" She asked. "DON'T TALK BACK, KID. THIS HAS TO BE DONE NOW." Her mom's friend and possibly other mom, rhinestone eyes, snapped at spinning top. Spinning Top took a step back, whimpering slightly as she knew what the punishments would be for talking back. - some time later - A group of ancients gathered around a pool of golden liquid, the most beautiful thing spinning top had ever seen. An ancient stepped forward, taking off their mask and some of their robes, before stepping in to the pool. Spinning Top's mother put her hands above spinning top's eyes, shielding her from the sight. A few gurgling noises, and a sound similar to boiling water. This repeated a few more times, a few names spinning top had never heard being called out. Sometimes she heard screams. A loud, deep voice called out "Spinning top is next! How brave for a little girl! Truly a brave, young soul let off easy" they announced. The hand was lifted from spinning top's eyes, and she took a step forward. "Don't be shy, little one. Your future awaits" the ancient said, in a voice that somewhat scared spinning top. She stepped forward again, slowly making her way to the pool. She took one last step in, sitting down. She was scared. Spinning top began to quietly sob. She felt a wave of cold. It was cold, so cold. She felt a weird fuzzy feeling spread through her, and looked down to see she was sinking, melting, dissolving. She screamed, out of fear rather than pain. She could hear the laugh of her other mother "I told you not to be shy" was the last thing spinning top heard before her failed ascension Ẅə şəə ỳ○ů, ŝpīṅṅịṅğ ṭ○p, ÿ○ūř ţř○ųɓłəṣ ãřə mıľəş ăẅâỳ Ẅə ṣəə ŷ○ų, şpįňňıṅģ ţ○p...
