✦✦✦ As Kirby, Bandanna Waddle Dee, and Meta go through the Starlit Forest, Bandanna Waddle Dee says, "Why are we going through here? "Before we go on our journey," Kirby states. "We might need to recruit King Dedede. This is just a shortcut." "Oh, makes sense," Bandanna Waddle Dee replies. "Unless he's busy, of course." "He's most likely busy," Meta said. "It is a weekday, after all." "Yeah, but we should still try to recruit him nonetheless," Bandanna says. "We've been on adventures with him before. I'm pretty sure he's going to be open to adventures." "That's because it was on weekends. Weekends are Dedede's days off while a waddle dee takes his place on the throne." "We should still try though." "COME ON, GUYS," Kirby yells, interrupting. "LET'S JUST GET TO CASTLE DEDEDE ALREADY. NO TIME FOR BICKERING." "Okay, okay," Meta responds. "Calm down, I was just making a point." The trio then continues onward to Castle Dedede. When the trio finally arrives, Kirby knocks on the castle's doors, and the three step back and wait for the doors to open. A guard waddle dee comes in, opening the door to find Kirby and his friends. "We want to talk to Dedede," Kirby says. The guard allows the trio to pass through, and when they reach the throne room, Dedede was caught off guard. "Hey you three, what are you doing here?" Dedede says. "We need to recruit you onto our team," Kirby says. "We're going on another mission." "I'm sorry," the king responds. "I have a really tight schedule today! First I have to handle complaints from Waddle Dees, and then I have to handle even more complaints from waddle dees! So many complaints..." "Oh, alright," Kirby says. "I guess I'll take that as a no." ✦✦✦ The trio, returning to Green Greens, had a sense of disappointment wash over them, as Dedede couldn't join them due to the fact he had to handle so many complaints from the Waddle Dees. "It's ok," Kirby reassured them. "We could do this on our own anyways." The trio then hops onto a warp star that just so happened to be in the middle of the path. “Now let’s go after the bad guys.” The warp star takes off and flies out of the atmosphere of Planet Popstar, speeding towards the ship of the Dark Hearts Society. ✦✦✦ Meanwhile, in the Dark Hearts Society ship. “Do you still think Aeon should have accompanied us?” Etsuji says to Katsuo. “No, we could do fine on our own, especially with the help of our leader,” Katsuo said. “I bet Aeon is doing just fine on his own.” “Now that you mention it, I wonder where he is,” Hidetsugu says. Suddenly, a Dark Knight arrives. He looked similar to that of a Blade Knight, only it was floating and it lacked arms and legs, and its hands were floating. The knight was wearing a mask and carrying a black sword. He looked just like any other Dark Knight. “Excuse me,” the Dark Knight said. “I need to speak to the Three Swords and the Crowned Blade.” “Alright, what is it?” Katsuo responds, his attention drawn to the Dark Knight. “Kirby is pursuing us. He has two allies with him.” “Check the back camera,” said the Crowned Blade, or the leader, to the large holographic screen. The screen showed footage of Kirby, Meta Knight, and Bandanna Waddle Dee riding a warp star towards the camera. “Careful now, we don’t want to make this too easy for Kirby,” said the Crowned Blade. “Let’s just shoot the Warp Star and let Kirby and his friends figure out the path for themselves.” Etsuji goes over to the keyboard. “Loading back cannons and aiming backwards,” he said, as he tapped some keys. “Launching missiles,” he then said a few seconds later. The back cannons then faced towards Kirby and the gang, and two missiles shot from them. The warp star, damaged, falls down into the atmosphere of another planet before the back cannons then faced back to the original direction. ✦✦✦ The trio crashes on a strange planet. The flora around the place in which they landed consisted of large flowers and grass and such, and there was a large mushroom away from them. There were no trees to be seen. Fortunately, the place where the trio crashed was in the middle of a path in which any blade of grass or flower stem was cut off and the path was paved. “Where are we?” Bandanna Waddle Dee said. “I don’t know,” Kirby said. “I’ve never seen a place like this before.” “We should go find the location of another Warp star,” Meta says. “Yeah, but every time a warp star pops up, it’s when I least expect it,” Kirby claims, “So I think we should just…explore this place…? But we do need to find the ship quick or we’ll lose them…” “Good point about the ship part, and we’ll just explore quickly, so none of you should think about the Warp Star,” Meta says. “Now let’s go.” The trio walks through the path while also encountering unfriendly natives, up until they find a wooden chest. Naturally, Kirby and Bandanna went towards it, but Meta stops them. [Read N&C]
[READ INSTRUCTIONS FIRST] “We need to make a quick journey, not stop by to look at some silly chest!” “Well, it’s only natural,” Bandanna says. “We are curious, after all, but can we just stop and look at what’s inside?” “No,” Meta argued. “Like I said, we need to make a quick trip around here so we can—“ “There you go, you’re thinking about the Warp Star,” Bandanna says. “The only way the warp star will come is when we’re not thinking about it, or at least, theoretically…” While the two argue, Kirby opens the chest, and he finds a scroll. Bandanna rushes over to it. Unrolling the scroll, it depicted a painting of the Dark Hearts society making an attack on a native village. The painting appeared to have been made with crushed berries, ink, paint, and charcoal. “Huh,” Kirby noted. “It looks like there’s some people that look like the people we just fought.” “And it looks like they’re attacking some kind of village,” Bandanna adds. “Lemme at it,” Meta Knight says. Meta takes the scroll and observes it. “This might tell us something about what those people have done in the past.” Meta rolls the scroll back up and puts it in his inventory. “Let’s keep going,” he said. The trio kept going until they stumbled upon another scroll that seemed to partially stick through the ground. Meta tried to stop the other two, but they pulled it out anyways. It turned out it was another painting, but this time, it depicted objects as well as some natives with some text above it. “Wha…?” Kirby reacted.
