So, as many have assumed from my account name, this account will be dedicated to a fan continuation of magic die! Intro: Back in 2022, I discovered magic die and quickly became obsessed. I thought the idea was really cool and original, and had always loved the art. As may of you know, magic dye has been officially cancelled. However, the creator said it was completely fine to make fan continuations, so that’s exactly what I’ll be doing! What I will be doing: 1: put research into the mythology used. One of the main reasons magic die was cancelled was because of cultural appropriation. As @MeadowFoot_ToPH said, they hadn’t put any research into the zodiac the characters represented, which does count as cultural appropriation. As someone who has an unhealthy obsession with chineses mythology, I feel like I am able to try to make this a bit more related to Chinese culture. As an add on to that, I will try to make the setting resemble ancient china. Sadly, quite a few fan continuations I have seen do not pay attention to @MeadowFoot_ToPH’s request, and do not put in the necessary research. If you are planning on doing a fan continuation, PLEASE, for the sake of meadow, do your research. It really makes a difference. 2: redesign some of the characters! This one is kinda for funsies, but I will be changing the species of the characters to better match the story. All the zodiac will be the species of the animal they represent, or at least share characteristics with them (I will be just doing cats with special features for are the ox, the pig, the monkey, and the sheep/goat, and the horse will just be a kirin). Since meadow has made projects in 2021/2022 featuring characters that would eventually be put in magic die, I’ll try using those for as many characters as possible. In conclusion, I will be taking this project very seriously, and hopefully it fulfills meadows expectations. Until next time, adios!
