okay, i found the lore: so, that creature thingy attacking the girl is a creature of darkness, and can only be killed by somebody exploding their inner core of magic(based kinda on the way ppl explode themselves in the chinese drama Ancient Love Poetry) and the guy(now my main oc) has the power to kill all those thingys, resulting in a violent war stopping, so he has to sacrifice himself(the reason hes holding up the gem is to get their attention, and get them close enough so they die :p)
