The bark was her skin, and what was under that was vine, endless, like veins. And so the bark grew back. Still recovering, however, she was robotic, lifeless faces, no emotion. Just like they wanted. So they stripped her of her bark every time she showed too much emotion. She wanted to stand up for herself, but she couldnt. not when they would just do it again.
