Capital cities are slightly bolder in yellow, major cities are a pale yellow, and state capitals are black. inspired by AdizzPro's WISCO If a nations capital is colored the same as another country, they are a puppet of said country. All real rivers exist, though the only ones visible on the map are canals, such as the Panama Canal and my fictional Latin Canal. You may have noticed the part were everyone randomly colonized africa and South America. Basically, the leaders of previous colonial powers realized their mistakes and how much resources these continents had. Everyone started annexing and selling countries in order to get a spot in the second race for colonies in africa and the first in SA.
shapes on countries indicate the alliance they are in. Clearing stuff up: If a country randomly appears out of another without any war, it was a peaceful split or a split that the leading country couldn't stop and said leading country is unable for any reason to send troops into the breakoff countries. If a country randomly gains land from another without war, it is a land purchase. If an area is colored the same as another country but still has a border, it is claimed/disputed territory and not official. If multiple countries randomly combine into one of said countries' colors, it is a union and they become the color of the leader of the union. Light grey borders represent areas in colonies, and are likely to be countries when colonization ends. They are mainly used on large land colonies, not small islands. If a colony is isolated and has no grey borders, then it doesn't have any sub areas. Nations may annex their puppets at any time though it might lead to a civil war
