X's POV: While sleeping one night, when all the lights were off, I woke up to the noise of tapping on glass. I sat up, rubbing my eyes. "W-Wha...?" I muttered groggily. My vision cleared, and I noticed a figure knocking on the glass to my right. The dim light revealed a short figure waving and smiling at me. She had short, light brown hair with bleached streaks. She also wore the same clothes as I wore, except she was labeled as "Experiment Y" But the strange thing was that she had black, sleek wings and feathers sprouting across her body. "Hey!" She greeted, waving furiously. "Who are you?" I continued to gape at her, before realizing she was asking a question. I blurted, "What are you?!" My face immediately flushed with embarrassment. Why did I say that?! Fortunately for me, the girl seemed unbothered. She actually grinned, which I assumed was a good sign. "Hah! I'm part crow apparently. Those weird coat people told me." She shrugged. "Who are you, again?" "Oh! I'm.. uh... X!" I said, still analyzing those crazy crow parts. "Nice to meet ya, X! Sorry for waking you up. As soon as those curtains went up, I immediately wanted to see who my neighbor was!" I laughed. "Ha, it's fine. It's nice to finally have a full talk to someone!" "Anyways," Y said, turning towards her bed. "I don't want to disturb you anymore. I am starting to get tired as well." She yawned and laid down on her bed. "G'night, X" "Night, Y." I said softly. It seems I had made a new friend, I thought to myself, staring at the ceiling. But... I wonder if I would get cool feathers and wings as well. How? No clue. "I guess I'll find out tomorrow." I whispered aloud, slowly drifting off to sleep.
