i just put it in the desc because who has the time to code? not me lol scroll down to read Maybe Athena had been a bit too harsh with Odysseus. Despite their differences, she had always had a similar philosophy to Poseidon. They both agreed that he should have killed the cyclops—for different reasons of course—and they both thought something along the lines of “ruthlessness is mercy upon ourselves.” Only, Athena had had years to think back on her fight with Odysseus; she thought that a different course of action would have been better. After leaving Ody with only his crew, she had thought long and hard about her decision, unsure it was the right choice. It was not, she had concluded. But she was hesitant to make a decision about what to do next. Perhaps she could go back. Make amends and continue to guide the man. After all, she was sure he had gotten into an awful lot of trouble since they last spoke, considering he had not yet returned to Ithaca. She was watching over Telemachus, the young prince and son of Odysseus. He was lonely. That wasn’t hard to tell. Hell, he was singing about it right now. Athena was positive that Apollo would have some futuristic reference to make about this scene. Telemachus’s life would have been better if Odysseus had been there for his childhood, thought Athena. She continued to follow the prince around the palace, observing him. She thought again about how small and innocent he was, even as a 20 year old man. She watched his encounter with Antinous, one of Penelope’s many suitors, expecting the prince to be able to at least put up a good fight. Athena was wrong about that. She didn’t want to say Telemachus was pathetic, but well … he kind of was. Sure, he threw a punch or two, but they didn’t hit. And sure, he bit Antinous’s hand when the suitor grabbed his face, but he definitely wasn’t winning. So Athena intervened. She used her quick thought to help the prince out, allowing him a bit of extra time to think. She gave him a few directions: “Uppercut him, now.” And a little bit of encouragement: “One young wolf has a larger heart than all these men combined.” But she swore that was it. Telemachus still lost though. All during the fight, Athena had thought about how endearing the prince’s innocence was, but as the two of them walked across the palace in painful silence Athena’s mind had again drifted to thoughts about her old friend. She really did miss Odysseus and she deeply regretted leaving after the fight with the cyclops. She still stood by her claim that Odysseus had made a stupid decision back then, because he had, but she regretted her choice nonetheless. Her mind drifted to earlier memories of the man. When they first met, when he had begged her to help him meet Penelope, when he had introduced her to baby Telemachus. She was pulled out of her thoughts by the prince himself. “Tell me Athena, why you came to my aid?”
