Welcome to Ant Colony Simulator! Press the green flag, wait a few minutes, and then the colony will be thriving! Make sure to take a look at the intricate trails that their pheromones produce! Read this for information! —Background— The colony starts with a queen ant, 5 worker ants, and 3 major ants. The colony is located within a tree stump. Leaves are scattered all over the area where the stump is located. There is a small pond full of water nearby, as well as a mango, that has been dropped by a small arboreal creature. There is also a plant, but it is riddled with aphids. —Mechanics and Info— Queen Ant— Lays eggs that—in 20 to 40 seconds—will soon hatch into Ant Larvae. Requires at least one of each resource to lay eggs. Ant Larvae— Requires any source of nourishment to pupate. Ant Pupae— Can transform into a worker ant, a major ant, or a supermajor ant. Worker Ants— Gather water, sugar, and protein to feed the larvae and queen. Travel via pheromones. Produce home pheromones to find their way back to the nest. When food is found, food pheromones of certain types are produced. When startled, alarm pheromones are released, but within the simulation, released sporadically. Major Ants— Larger than worker ants. Rip chunks of meat out of dead prey animals to provide worker ants with a source of protein, via trophallaxis (Trophallaxis is the process of transferring nutrition—through regurgitation—to another member of the colony). Supermajor Ants— Looks like a major, but is larger. When having sensed an alarm pheromone, they will enter an aggressive state, in which they charge at full speed, which can kill prey animals when hit. Pond— Ants can gather water from here. Mango— One source of sugar within the simulation. Aphids— Can be milked for honeydew, which is rich in sugar. Resides on the plant. Plant— Drops leaves, which become food for prey animals. Cricket— One of the prey animals. Has a random chance of hopping, but is not as fast as the roach. Can be killed for protein. Roach— One of the prey animals. Moves faster than the cricket, but cannot hop. Can be killed for protein. Tree Stump— Home of the ant colony.
