(Kody POV) I sat at my desk in the back of the reform classroom, the balled up page of math sitting beside me, my face shoved into my arms and it looked like I was asleep, One of Charlie's weird sayings poped into my head, "you're fakin' a smile with the coffee to go," it was from one of Charlie's favorite songs, Bad Day by Daniel Powter, and he said it meant that you're faking being nice to people because you don't want them to feel bad, even if you aren't going to be seeing them ever again. I heard Mrs. Schott's voice near my desk, "Mr. Hill," she said as she tapped my desk, and I looked up, "Where is your work on number 4?" she asked and I looked down at the ground, "I, I did it in my head," I responded quietly. I scribbled down a simplified version of what I'd done in my head befroe I pulled out a paper schedule, Tuesday: leave school at 2:25 for eye apointment with Charlie, meet Serenity for coding and tech tips at 3:15, Pick Aly up from Aart with the Kindergarteners at 3:30, then get Ollie from writing at 4, then pick up snacks from the grocery store on the way home I sighed, such a busy schedule fpr this afternoon.
