Note: sorry I couldn’t make it all nice and interactive :( 1) about me: Hi there! My nickname is Arrow, and my pronouns are she/her. I live in the UK so the time zone this session is going to be BST. I love writing and I am currently working on a fantasy book. I also love reading, and my favourite books of all time is the LOTR trilogy (as you probably guessed). My personality type is like chill optimistic and extroverted, my hobbies include horse riding and sculpting, I love foresty and cottage core stuff and uhh yeah! 2) previous experience: I have previously participated in two SWC sessions, July 2023 & March 2025. I was only just a camper during those session, so I’m excited to try leading! In terms of writing experience, I have been part of a writing club for 2 years and currently working on a novel. As for leadership skills, I run a roleplay studio on scratch and I help co-teach dance glass. I also organised a costume party at writers club •^• 3) cabin preferences: I would really hope to lead fantasy, especially for a chance to make it LOTR themed! If not fantasy that I would be happy to lead myth or fan-fi, or thriller since it was my first ever swc experience. If possible I would prefer not to lead TCTWNW. 4) writing excerpt: The first thing I noticed is that the few light through the rooftop windows was covered by thick curtains. Then I saw, her. I have not expected it to be a women. Some people pretend to read a paper when you enter and only look up when you are right in front them. Here, here gaze was upon me as soon as I entered, and she watched me intently as I walked across. Izzena Rex, read a nametag. Her nails and jewelry seemed to glow in the uncertain light. She smiled, in a way that sent chills down my spine and at the same time made me want to take her hand and dance. Keeping my hand ane voice steady, I handed her the needed papers. She looked through the entire stack in seconds before saying: “Gold income report inaccurate. New version must be by noon tomorrow”. She said, her words snapping out of her mouth. She looked me up and down with a sneer clearly visible in her eyes. Her lip twitched slightly, the upper lip elevating in the corner twisting her mouth in a familiar position. Her tiny nose was acting as a support for her enormous glasses, taking up the greater part of her face. Flaming red was resting on her cheeks, and her entire face seemed so round it could replace a wheel. It might have been a humorous looking combination of features if it was not for her eyes. They were small and piercing, and such a brown that looked red in the uncertain light. Then she laughed, but her eyes made the laugh a bare mockery of the joyful sound. She strolled across the room to me, and stood pushing her hip to one side, a crooked grin breaking out on her face and she rubbed her hands. “So you say the Birds have made an attempt to steal our deal?” she said, letting out a giggle, putting one leg out and seemingly bursting from excitement. “Well then, we remove them! Crush them! Nobody will ever remember that a group called birds existed!” each word was accompanied with a laugh. She laughed not like an epic villain, but like a young girl talking about a new boy or a child about a butterfly. Her hands clapped. “Have a seat” she said, removing any sort of emotion in an instant.
. 5) activity in July: I would be very active and be able to monitor my cabin as needed. However during July 7th-11th I will only be able to log on early morning and mid-late afternoon, due to activities. I don’t have anything to do in July and I will be glad to have something to keep me busy on scratch. 6) time management: I would say I am overall pretty good at time management, except that I sometimes misjudge how much time I have left for something. I think I’ll be able to handle my time as a SWC leader fairly reasonably. One of my skills in time management is making myself an adequate work-leisure schedule to stay productive and not burned out. I had to rush this application a bit since I misjudged and neglected doing it earlier when I studied for exams, so that is definitely something to work on! 7) assets & skills: I have great communication skills irl, and I often volunteer to make phone calls, for example for doctor appointments, for my family. I love to organise and arrange things, which is great for collaborating. Whenever there are group projects at school I always try my best to listen to others and make sure everyone had a say and added something to the work. One of my shortcomings however, would be being sensitive to rude comments and finding it hard to accept and apply feedback, but I try to work on it 8) one quality: my one quality would be my positivity and “hospitality” towards members. It always makes me so excited when new people join SWC and I feel like I would be able to encourage others and help them through being so extroverted. 9) cabin atmosphere: I would love to have a cheerful cabin, with the main focus on making friends and having fun in SWC. While winning would certainly be fun, I think it’s more important that everybody has a good time and appreciates the wonderful dailies and weeklies provided here without rushing or getting as many words as possible. 10) A) both boxes checked B) none C) If I am inactive I would first talk my co leaders and make sure they will be available during my time off, as well as delegate my responsibilities. If someone else is inactive I will try to be extra active to make up and keep track of everything that happened to fill in the inactive person when they get back. 11) bonus question: my dream house would definitely be somewhere in the forest. It would be made with vines and roots creeping in, and stairwells with trapdoors. Some coloured windows would be awesome! And the curtains would be chiffon or tule, to allow for a natural and dreamy cottage core vibe. I would make sure to put lots of fairy lights, and at least 2 hammocks to relax in! It would have a tiny little loft with a glass slanted roof where I can watch the stars and rain.
