Night 2: I sigh as I fall backwards into the office chair. I wish I could quit this job, but there’s a contract that I had to sign, and I can’t back out without having a lawsuit thrown into my face. I rub my face gently, trying to steady my breathing. “Don’t panic,” I tell myself quietly, checking the clock. 15 minutes until I’m supposed to start my shift. I pull open the middle drawer, only to see a photograph jammed into the farthest back corner of the drawer. “What is this?” I wonder, pulling out the yellowing photograph. The picture is of a man who appears to be entirely purple. I blink and look again. Yep, still purple. I flip the picture over, and see faded writing on the back. ‘Mr. Vincent’ it reads. I look at the picture again before I put it back into the drawer. I decide to ask Boss about the picture later. For now, I kneel down and check the bottom drawer. I yelp and scoot backwards when I see a bloodied knife in the drawer. “Wh-Who would have put a knife in here?! And why?” Pulling my hand into my sleeve, I gingerly pull the knife out of the drawer and set it on the desk. The chime sounds, and the lights dim. I shut the drawer with my foot and carefully pick up the tablet. T. Bonnie is already gone, and that’s when I see a new face peeking out of Pirate Cove. “Great. Another one is active now.” I wince, checking the other cameras quickly. When I reach the Parts & Service room, I do a double-take. Another new animatronic is standing in the shadows, and at first I think it’s Bonnie. However, I soon realize that this isn’t the case. First of all, the color is all wrong. This rabbit is yellow, but Bonnie is purple. Secondly, this animatronic looks so broken that I wonder if it’s even activated. The color drains from my face as I realize which animatronic this is. A few years ago, there was a place called ‘Fazbear’s Fright’ that was about to open. Sadly, it caught on fire just before opening day. There was only one animatronic there, but it was rumored to be highly dangerous. Now I am looking at that very animatronic, which had somehow survived the fire. “O-Oh my gosh…” The thing has turned its head to stare directly at the camera. Feeling uncomfortable, I quickly switch to Cam 11, and wind up the music box. Hearing a strange noise, I check the side doors. Chica is staring at me through the window again. Sighing, I close the door and check the hallway in front of me. Satisfied that there’s nothing there, I lean back in the chair slightly. A noise in one of the vents sends me scrambling for the tablet. I see the yellow rabbit coming for me through the vents. Having seen the layout of this place, I know that the vents lead to the front hallway in front of me, which offers no protection whatsoever. Thinking quickly, I seal off the vent and then flip back through all of the cameras. To my horror, the Pirate Cove curtain is open slightly. I go to Cam 11 and wind up the music box again. “Why are there so many of these…monstrosities out to get me?!” I whisper-scream. “I just wanted an easy job!” Hearing a noise in front of me, I look up and see Toy Freddy in front of me. I pull on the mask and resist the urge to scream something nasty to him. Once he leaves, I check through all of the cameras again. I actually miss the voice of the recording on the phone. It was annoying, certainly, but at least the person talking seemed happy. It almost made me feel…confident. I almost forget about the doors, but I suddenly remember, and nearly fall over when I see both Bonnie and Chica are looking at me. I close both doors and moan. “Why can’t this just be over?” I say sadly, checking the cameras. “It can be over, if you just surrender.” I jerk upright and see that yellow rabbit standing in the front hallway. I scoot my chair backwards, knowing that the Freddy mask won’t work on this one. “S-Surrender?” I ask after a moment. “What do you mean by that?” He laughs, a horribly broken cackle coming from between his broken lips. “Just give up! After all, you’ll still have 12 more nights after this one, and that’s before this place even opens! They’ll probably end up hiring you as the new guard. And then you’ll never get to leave.” I reel back slightly, my head hitting the back of my chair. Suddenly remembering the knife, I grab it and point it at the thing in front of me. “Leave me alone, or I will attack you.” I try to be confident, but my voice trembles slightly. He notices, and grins at me. “I see you found my knife!” he comments, taking a step closer. I steady the knife and continue to point it at him. “I said…leave. Me. Alone!” I repeat, each word slightly louder than the last, until I’m practically screaming at him. “Well, I’ll do as you say…for now. I’ll be back tomorrow night!” He gives me a cheery wave and exits, melting back into the shadows. I bury my head in my hands, trying not to cry. Noticing that I’m still clutching the bloodied knife, I quickly drop it.
“W-Why me?!” I moan, wiping my tears away and picking up the tablet again. To my horror, the music box is about to stop. I quickly wind it up, grateful that I left it on Cam 11. That’s when I hear running feet coming down the west hallway. Without thinking about it, I shut the door and hear something heavy slam into it. “I hope you broke something!!” I scream over the sounds of banging. Pulling up the tablet again, I see that T. Bonnie and T. Chica are heading for me, as are the regulars. “They aren’t going to give me a break, I see…” I check the time. It’s 4:00 A.M. now. “Two hours…I can make it two more hours…” I mutter to myself as I check the power level. “N-No!!!! 10%?!” I wail. “I’m going to die!!!!” Laughter from the east hall doorway snaps me out of it. I look over to see that yellow rabbit leaning in the doorframe, preventing me from closing him out. “I tried to warn you,” he said. “I told you to surrender.” I groan. “I already told you to leave—“ He cuts me off. “I’m not going over that conversation again. I’m here to make a deal with you.” I stare over at the decaying animatronic. “What kind of deal?” I finally ask, my voice barely above a whisper. “I’ll help keep the others away from the office…if you give me back that knife and the photograph in the middle drawer.” “H-How did you know about the photo?” I ask, but he waves me off. “That’s not important right now. What is important is this: Do we have a deal?” “What happens if I say no?” He grins evilly. “The end result won’t be…pleasant. Especially not for you.” I swallow, trying to think this through. “Tick-tock, Ms. Ivy! You’ve only got a little bit of power left!” I just about lose it. “How do you know my name?!” “I have my ways…” From the smirk still on his face, these ‘ways’ are probably not legal. “Did you read my file somehow?” “Bingo!” He applauds, bowing towards me. “I’m surprised that you’re actually a smart one.” His smirk widens. I check the power again. 5%. I sigh. “Deal or no deal, my dear~?” I pick up the knife, turning it over in my hands, considering. I still have my hands covered by my sleeves. “Deal.” I toss the knife at him, and he catches it neatly. “Good choice! Now, where’s that picture?” I hesitate, holding it in my hands. “Why do you want this? And how did you know about it?” He sighs, shaking his head slightly. “I’m afraid you don’t have time to ask those kinds of questions, doll. Now, the picture?” I slowly approach him, reminding myself that even though we made a deal, I can’t trust this thing…yet. He reaches out his hand for the picture, and I hand it to him timidly, afraid to let my hand touch his. I don’t even want to stand this close to him, especially because of the odor wafting from the decayed suit. He leers down at me, his greyish-white eyes fixed on my face. “That wasn’t so hard, right?” I back off slightly, and he frowns. “What’s the matter?” He sees the look on my face and suddenly smirks again. “Oh, I get it. Trust issues! Well, I’ll fix those soon enough!” He sprints down the hallway, and I go back to my chair. Pulling up the tablet, I check Cam 11. After winding up the music box again, I check the doors and the hallway in front of me. To my surprise, they’re all empty. I check my power supply. 2%. I suddenly regret not making a will before I accepted this job. My eyes suddenly widen as I see the power level going back up. When the power hits 50%, the sudden increase stops. I check the time and grin slightly. It’s 5:00 A.M. Plenty of power, and not too much time left now. Hearing a cough from the west hall doorway again, I look over and see the yellow rabbit standing there. “You’re welcome,” he says, grinning at me with his broken smile. I stare over at him for a moment before everything clicks. “Y-You brought back more power for me? How?” He nods. “Simple. There’s an old generator in the basement. I just wound it up again and voila! More power for you!” “So, what’s your name? I still haven’t caught it yet, and it’s awkward if you know my name and I don’t know yours.” He bowed slightly. “My name is Springtrap.” “Odd name,” I mutter. Somehow, he catches my comment. “An odd name, but it fits me. Trust me, I’ve gotten quite a reputation.” I try to mask a shudder at these words. “Believe me, I know.” The chime rings out, startling me. “See you tomorrow night?” he asks. I nod slowly. “I can’t exactly quit this job…” I say quietly. To my surprise, Springtrap starts cackling again. “They still have that stupid contract in place for nightguards?! Wow…” His expression settles into a leer. “At least you have me to protect you now,” he says, coming a little closer. I stand up and grab my bag. “Leaving so soon?” he asks. “Yes,” I reply simply, heading for the door. His next words stop me cold. “Well, see you for the next 12 nights!” End of Night 2
