To say he is good at his job is an overstatement - he constantly gets stuff lost and has to spend the extra hour tracking down every letter or newspaper that flew away with the breeze. Luckily, he has his trusty feathered companion Dizzy to help him out. She soars up into the sky, catching letters that fall through his paws, only to lose her balance and come crashing down anyway, crumpling whatever she held. How do they even have a job here? Perhaps they keep him around because, despite being a bit of an airhead and very uncoordinated, his smile lights up any room he walks into. He never lets his clumsiness get him down, though you'd think after so many repeat incidents he'd have learned a little something. He's simple but loveable in his own way. It was a typical morning, his pristine white bag slung over his shoulder, head and tail high. He faced towards the sun, the rays warming his fur. His paws trotted along, a letter in his mouth. A look of determination rested on his face - he was going to get this delivery done on time, he insisted to himself. Dizzy smacks straight into his side. The oh-so-important letter he swore he was going to deliver falls out of his mouth, the wind whisking it away. "Yeouch! Dizzy!" he spins around, scolding her for not watching where she's going. "I told you to stick nearby!" he pouts. "Sorry, Apollo! I'll watch where I'm going next time... but I think you have better priorities right now!" she stares out towards the letter floating away. He follows her gaze and his jaw drops to the floor. "Oh no!" he runs after it, watching it brush past the blades of grass. "You get back here!" In his frenzied scramble, his front paws catch on a rock nested in the tall grass. He tumbles chin first towards the ground, the paper evading his chase. "Don't you worry! I've got it!" Dizzy shouts from behind him, her white wings propelling her forward. She soars past Apollo, making a beeline for the letter. She catches it in her beak, causing him to let out a long sigh of relief. She makes a swift turn back, displaying her expert skill in flying. "Thank you!" he pants, already out of breath. Pulling himself up, he gives her a warm smile before it wipes off his face. She hadn't slowed down one bit and was heading straight for him. So much for 'expert' flying, I suppose. "Dizzy!?" he exclaims. She smacks into his face, stunning them both. They both crumple to the ground. Dazed, he pulls his eyes back over to her. She still had the letter tight in her beak. "Thank goodness for that!" he sighs, "Are you alright, Dizzy?" He gently tugs the letter from her and tucks it in his bag. "Urrgh... yes... I got the letter!" her eyes snap back into focus, straight at him. They both let out a giggle, Apollo scooping her up. "Silly bird!" he teases. "Silly cat!" she counters. ✿ these entries are SO experimental, i mostly did stuff i'm not really used to doing ! i messed around with live2d to animate a scene and i experimented with a more painterly style for the drawing ! i also had fun writing a short story about him and his bird buddy, i don't write very much but it was fun thinking about their personalities and backgrounds ! i couldn't *not* enter for this design, it's just so cute and the colours are so pretty to me ! ✿ magical cure love shot - sawtowne
