THE DUNE FACTION ☆ i͟m͟po͟r͟t͟a͟n͟t͟ ͟i͟n͟f͟o͟ the dune is a collective of several groups and villages living near what was once Africa. ENVIRONMENT the war changed the landscape to almost all sand and dirt, not much fertile land. the region is very dry and windy, there are often sandstorms. many wear masks or shawls to prevent dust / sand from getting into their eyes. most of the fertile, plantable land is around the oases, playing a big part in their lives. MANA USAGE many people living here have a hard time controlling their mana, it often overflows when it is too weak most of the people have wind / earth related magic. water mana is less common, but those who do will be treated better. GOVERNMENT the faction isn't very organized, it doesn't have a main government. each city has its own set of rules and laws. there is a lot of respect in the cities there are thieves, but most people can't do anything about them. it's never very often though, unless the person is very starved or very poor. there are no wars / battles going on, hardly any conflict ever happens. CITIES most cities don't have actual names or aren't written down. many cities are near an oasis or another water source-- water is very important to them every now and then, cities will have public executions. ECONOMY most people trade using gold or other valuable stones / metals, and salt. salt is very important to them. in most larger cities, there are markets, where most of the money-making and trading happens. COMMON FOODS common snacks are dates, figs, olives, and other plants that are common to grow around oases. most meals surround foods common to the oasis, cereals like wheat, rice, and various vegetables. there aren't many greens out of the oasis / water area, which is why people in the cities plan water usage very carefully. meats .. many people don't eat meat, as it's harder to get their hands on, as there isn't much hunting, people eat sheep, jackrabbits, goats, camel, and other small rodants. often, they import goods from other factions when having the chance, however, it's very expensive and only rich families can afford it. RELIGION there isn't an official one, and most people don't think about it. however, there is no judgment to people who do worship something. ⠀★ based slightly off SWANA !!
