It had been a few days after Coalshade's vigil. So far, being a warrior was boring. It was just hunt, patrol, aaaand... that's it. Cedarleaf, on the other hand, couldn't have been anymore excited about this. "Come on Coalshade!," Cedarleaf said, "Being a warrior is AWESOME! You have so much power!" Power. So far, the only power that Coalshade saw was the ability to catch mice. "Let's go hunting!" Cedarleaf said. Coalshade reluctantly agreed and headed out of camp. The forest was buzzing with life but something didn't seem right. "Look! A mouse!" Cedarleaf cried, snapping Coalshade out of her daze. Coalshade crouched so low that the furs on her belly were brushing against the ground. She was about two inches away from the mouse before a twig snapped beneath her paws. The mouse's whiskers twitched and it bolted. Coalshade sprang after it landing a hair away from the skittish creature. Coalshade's paw hit a leaf on the ground and before she knew it, she was on her back looking up at the sky. "Hah!" Cedarleaf laughed," Don't worry, you'll get it next time," "Yeah suuuuuuuuuure..." Cedarleaf's "encouragement" didn't help Coalshade shake off the feeling that something was really wrong. She glanced around the forest, looking for any clue of something off. "What's wrong?" Cedarleaf asked. "I dunno... something seems weird..." Coalshade said warily. Cedarleaf lowered his head and sniffed the ground, and his tail twitched. "What?" Coalshade asked. "This scent... it's so familiar..." Coalshade sniffed the ground and noticed it. It was a scent that she recognized but didn't know what or who it was from. She had learned this scent, but who had left it? Suddenly, she jerked her head up, immediately remembering. "Shadowclan!" She yowled, "They're attacking the camp!"
i didn't mean for this chapter to be so short. i just wanted to leave this on a cliffhanger. :) Coalshade's eyes are blue but i just didn't change them in the other fanfics
