In a nutshell, its a big fish tank..... BUT IN SPAAAAACE!!!!11!!11 :0 Some other fun facts & features: On normal ships, a single hole can be fatal. As the air pressure tears the hull apart from the inside-out as it leaks out into space, but due to Cliopathian ships being filled with water instead. There is less pressure(as it is not a gas being sucked out) & will boil a little bit when leaking, but soon freeze in the cold vacuum of space, temporarily patching up holes & blown off bits, giving the ship a fighting chance even when much of the original hull gone. This has lead to many brutal & long battles between Cliopathian ships, as both sides refuse to give up, & fight until much of their ship's hulls have been replaced with ice. The warp engine is a bit different then most, as instead of creating a warp bubble to push the ships, it splits space-time to pulls on it like a rope. This system has several ups & downs, but could possibly be even better & more efficient then others. It solves issues like built up radiation around the warp field, as the ship sets space-time(with the radiation) back as it was behind it. It could be faster, more safe, & more powerful........ If not for Cliopathia's primitive energy sources, using a nuclear powerplant(a bit more advanced efficient then the ones on IRL earth) which does not have nearly enough power to create a high enough warp-bubble frequency to get past warp 2-4. The ship's hull is also a major problem, as any faster & the front part would rip off from the rest. So for the time being, warp 4 remains as Cliopathia's speed limit. But with Cliopathian scientist experimenting with things like anti-matter, & a few modifications to use the ship's own warped gravity to hold the hull together, this speed limit may be breached soon..... The warp fields around the ship also help act as shielding(for energy shielding has not yet been researched) as the very plane of space-time that space junk & enemy fire is traveling along is bent & warped around the ship, its not 100% weapon proof, with the warp-shielding effect strongest at the front, but weaker towards the back. Fire directly at the front, & your weapon will end up flowing with the spliced space-time & run towards the back as if nothing happened. Fire from the top/bottom & your weapon might hit if powerful enough, but its path & accuracy would be ruined(More true the closer to the front) Fire directly at the back, & your weapon will be pushed away in the jet of space-time being thrown there. But the sides...... The sides have no warp field, for a few reasons. 1. Its the only way they can break out of warp, & 2. The thin strips of the sides must be opened, or else for the same reasons enemy weapons would struggle to hit them, their fire would struggle to reach the enemy. The sides are left open, but are heavily gunned. With battles between Cliopathian ships being much like old naval battles with big wooden sailing vessels, all ships trying to get on the side of each other & to fire a volley of fire onto the enemy's side. Often within viewing range of each other, the gun crews struggle to reload before the enemy does. Knowing if they don't reload fast enough, they'll never see their loved ones again..... (Of course this "shielding" is useless if you have a weapon stronger then the warp frequency) Cliopathian ships so far, have only fought other Cliopathian ships. Their weapons & deigns are specifically built to deal with fighting Cliopathian style ships, as they have yet to make contact with another space faring race. hundreds of years of war & evolution has lead to the designs you see. Weapons such as: >Radiation beams. Along a strip similar to a phaser strip, radiation from the nuclear reactor is compressed & jetted out in a beam at the enemy. >Plasma bursts & cannons, taking plasma(also recycled from the reactor) & firing it ether in a wide burst, or compressed in a ball & fired. >Atmosphere missiles. They are fired into the enemy's hull, & then release a burst of air. Causing the pressure between the air bubble & the hole in contact with space to explode a big chunk out of an enemy's hull. >Nuclear missiles, a bit more powerful then the Tsar bomba(for Cliopathia has had a bit more time playing around with nuclear weapons & plants then IRL earth) which are only used as a last resort. >Ramming, just ancient ships used to just but heads with each other, the front part+warped bubble act as a powerful ram that could be used(as a last resort) to destroy enemy ships, but at a great cost & damage to the ramming ship & its crew...... Hope that was in depth enough, & i hope the science is accurate.
These ships are probably in the cradle compared to the rest of the CBMV, but i want to keep things a bit realistic & accurate. & since Cliopathia has just joined, its only logical that it starts with a bit more primitive & inferior technology. (Also note that this is a basic design template of the unique Cliopathian ship design, they will come in many different sizes & shapes, tho generally not much different then this.) Cliopathians are a race of mermaid-like people(which is why the ship has water instead of air) which is a sort of experiment of mine, most mermaid media really does not explore how a underwater civilization would evolve, how their conflicts & politics are, how average civilian life is, & how technology would advance in a underwater world. Most just focus on the basic "girl finds out she is secretly a mermaid" trope, & since this alt account of mine is fished theme, here i am :/
