I honestly didn’t know how to start with this poem Without making it really cheesy. I mean you are my Mama after all I thought that this would be easy. I’ll start it off by saying how your smile lights a room And how your laugh is the only thing that is keeping us from doom. I love the way you kiss my head Even though you’re still in bed. I love how you still hold me tight Before the house gets ready for the night. I love your eyes and how they shine with light. I never thought that something could shine quite as bright. I love the way that your voice can be both soothing and threatening. But the way you open your arms can be very welcoming. I love you til the moon and back Is too small to count. The moon is something that can lack The size I want to account. The stars envy your color that you shine from up above. And the birds wish they can be you, a beautiful, lovely dove. Poems usually come easy to me. It’s just a piece of writing. But I wanted this piece to go and set you free. But the words I want to say are still hiding. I love you, my Mama. The stars could never parallel. You save me from all the drama. You’re so sweet like coffee filled with caramel. I wanted this poem to hit your heart. Like you did to me. You’ve loved me from the very start. So, I’ll say this like it’s a decree. I love you, Mama. And Happy Mother’s Day.
Poet's note: I know that it's a little late but this is the poem I wrote to my mom. I hope you like it!! Honestly, I'm pretty proud of this. I made my mom cry when I read it to her xD
