M4/MBT Model 4, Main Battle Tank (M4/MBT) -- The M4/MBT is a 3rd generation MBT developed and built by Perinto Defense Systems. In the late 1970s, Perinto engineers saw Centanet Motor Company's new MBT designs, and feared that Perinto was lagging behind in the defense industry. The M4/MBT was the result of Perinto engineers hastily using pre-existing parts to build a new MBT. For such reason, the M4 is based off the chassis of the older M1. The design started production late 1980s-early 1990s. -- This was reshared due to the older design being not very good. -- Models: XM4/MBT: First prototype. M4/MBT: First variant to be put into produced. M4-A/MBT: Based on M3/MBT with machine guns replaced with a 20mm autocannon.
