When he was apprentice he came across a clan of wolves. He convinced his leader, Bluestar, to make a truce with the wolves. However, during his warrior ceremony right after Bluestar declared his name to be Goldenpebble, A new alpha wolf emerged through the bushed and destroyed Treeclan. Goldenpebble ran away, being the only survivor. Clans nearby heard of the tragedy and refused to take him in. He ran into many clans that disregarded him. After running into one too many he was in a fight with a leader. The last thing he heard before he scurried off until the leader relented was "STARCLAN HAS TURNED AWAY FROM YOU".
