hii !! this is a story i made, 3 chapters so far !! Chapter 1 Lena and Noah had never gotten along. From the moment they met, it was clear they were opposites. She was quiet, reserved, and loved getting lost in her books. He was the popular, charming guy who seemed to effortlessly slip through life with a smile and a careless attitude. they had hated from the start, their personalities fighting each other. Lena found Noah arrogant, and arrogance. Noah thought Lena was distant, and completely uninterested in anything outside her perfect little world. Their hated for each other only deepened. Every interaction seemed like a battle, whether it was in class, at parties, or through mutual friends, there was always some tension between them. They were enemies. And neither of them had ever given the other a chance to see a different side. Chapter 2 It was a typical Monday morning the high school hallways was a familiar battlefield, full of cliques and gossip. Lena passed by, keeping her gaze low, but, he had to make a point in her way. "Hey, Lena" Noah said with his usual smirk, leaning against a locker like he owned the place, but it was the way he looked at her, like he was watching for a reaction, that always set her on edge. Lena didn't even slow down. "What do you want, Noah?" Her voice was flat "Nothing, just making sure you haven't completely turned into a ghost," he laughed "don't you ever get tired of hiding behind that book?" Lena stiffened, she didn’t respond, didn’t need to. She knew what he was doing. Noah had always tried to tease her, made her mad. He laughed more the sound carefree "you really think you're better than everyone else " Lena not trusting herself to respond, she walked away, pushing past him. She tried to ignore the part of her that noticed the faint hurt that passed over his expression for just a second but that was Noah. Always acting like he didn’t care, always throwing insults like they were nothing so why did it matter? It didn’t. At least, that’s what she told herself. Chapter 3 The next few days passed in a blur of routine—until Thursday afternoon. Lena had finished her last class when she received an unexpected text. The school had just announced that for the upcoming group project in English class, they’d be paired up with someone they hadn’t worked with before. Lena opened the email, scanning the list. Her eyes stopped at the name that made her stomach twist Noah Of course, the universe had a way of making her life sad She screamed under her breath, frustration, why him? she was supposed to spend hours working with him on a project? When the bell ran Lena grabbed her bag she was trying to escape, trying to avoid Noah But, fate, he was waiting for her right outside the class room. "Hey Lena," Noah, his smirk still there. Lena took a deep breath, trying to steady her nerves. keeping it together. "What do you want, Noah?" she asked, her voice flat like she wanted "Well we have a project." His tone was light "You don’t mind, right? I mean, it’s not like we haven’t worked together before…" His words trailed off, the hint of something more Lena was trying hard to keep it together she thought to herself, don't cry and don't yell, "yeah w-whatever " she whispered ,her voice betrayed her and her tears, because one tear dropped from her eye, she tried to act like it was nothing but Noah noticed right away and to her surprise dropped his smirk He asked " are you ok?" But there was something in the way his eyes met hers, something that made her pause for a second too long. "We’ll make it work " "Whatever," Lena muttered, unwilling to let him know her sadness "When do you want to start?" "How about tomorrow? After school, we can meet at the library. We’ll get it done in no time." Lena didn’t say anything, just nodded stiffly, already mentally bracing for awkwardness. She wasn’t sure if it was the thought of working with him that made her uneasy, or the fact that she’d never really given him a chance to be anything other than the arrogant guy "Alright, see you tomorrow," Noah said, his mile softening for just a second before he turned and walked away, blending back into the crowd. Lena stood there for a moment, her heart beating a little too fast, a strange feeling in her stomach. She shook her head. It’s just a project, she told herself, It’s just Noah. But deep down she was not was so sure.
