alr, alr... here is the info u wanted (i hope). lmk if u hv more questions. PLEASE CORRECT ME IF ANY OF THIS INFO IS INCORRECT MY FELLOW AUSSIES. Traditions: -Anzac Day (okay, so ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corp, and its a public holiday where we remember the ones who died in the wars from our two countries. WE EAT ANZAC BICKIES) -Australia Day (we celebrate the day that Captian Cook (supposedly the founder of AUS) discovered australia. its on January the 26th and its a public holiday. traditionally people would play cricket and catch up.) -BUNNINGS Sausage Sizzles (so basically our tradie shop sells snags (look food section) on saturdays and sundays.... and theyre so simple but good!) -Australian Open (tennis) -Boxing Day Test Cricket (basically cricket on boxing day) -Pinch Punch (on the first of every month, theres a chance youll get pinched and punched. traditionally we'd say 'pinch punch, first day of the month' and different states add different rhymes and things at the end such as white rabbit, or 'slip slap, cant get me back'. younger people usually do this.) -State of Origin (this is mostly a Queenslander and New South Wales thing, but QLD and NSW have a huge rivalry when it comes to rugby league. and state of origin is literally just them versing eachother... constantly. i love it.) Culture/Beliefs: -Dropbears (so this is a mythical creature (or is it? maybe you should carry around a metal umbrella just in case) based of koalas. the myth is that they just drop on people from the trees, and with their sharp claws, hurt or kill you :) ) -Dangerous? (yeah no, aus isnt as dangerous as people say. yes, we have some crazy deadly creatures (such as red bellies, funnel webs, brown snakes, etc.). its actually kind of beautiful. now i think of it... the most dangerous thing is probably the sand on beaches ngl. IT BURNSSS) -Accents (no, not any aussies i know walk up to eachother and say, 'gday mate, whats cooking on the barbie?' or something like that. i mean, some do but thats just mostly stereotypical imho) Food: okay, so i personally think australia has some of the best foods. some include: -meat pies (quite literally what its called.) -pavlova (ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. it looks like a giant marshmallow, but it aint. its like a meringue but a bit different. most (not all) families will usually eat this around christmas time.) -vegemite (okay... so there's a debate about whether this spread is good or not. only TRUE aussies like vegemite (im jk). its salty, and a bit... almost tangy but not. i personally like it.) -weetbix (cereal usually, but can be a snack (an awful one lol, its super dry without milk or something). its just basically processed wheat in the shape of a brick, and basically just put milk with it, choose how many you want, and top it with like, honey or banana or something like that.) -snags (quite literally just a sausage in white bread with sauce and onion (only if u like onion tho lol).) -lamingtons (absolutely amazing! im pretty sure its like a vanilla cake, covered in this chocolate coating and sprinkled with coconut.) -TimTams (okay, this is by far one of the best. its just two chocolate biscuits with chocolate icing in the middle and covered with chocolate.) -Anzac Biscuits (amazing. its basically a biscuit made from oats, and... (just google it at this point.)) Random Facts: -SPELLING (we spell things a heap different to americans such as colour, mum, and armour just to name a few.) -Happy Birthday Song (apparently americans dont say 'hip hip, hooray' at the end of a happy birthday song.)
ill make another project soon bc i ran out of space. desc was too long apparently.
