Trigger Warnings: uhhh flashback? First: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1154371538/ Previous: Next: soon Chapter 38. I dial Lizzie’s home phone, I asked her for it before she left. I tap my feet as I wait for her to pick up. She’s probably sleeping. It’s probably around midnight, maybe 1am. Just before I give up, I hear the fuzzy static before she answers softly. “Hi..?” Her voice is dry. I probably woke her up. “Lizzie.” My voice shakes. “Is Jimmy there?” “N-no? I could… is it important? I could probably go get him?” “Do that.” I say anxiously. My door opens and HE slips in the room wordlessly. He hits the creaky floorboard on the way to my green couch. Lizzie’s line clicks off and I drop the phone on the table. We exchange a look between each other across the room, my own eyes staring back at me as mine fog up with tears. After a minute my phone rings again. I scramble to pick it up. “I got him.” She sounds winded, like she ran to his house. I can hear heavy breathing in the background. “I need to talk to him.” My voice trembles again and I curse myself. There’s a murmur as the phone is passed over. “Hullo?” Jimmy’s voice comes over the phone. “There’s someone- there’s-“ I take a breath and look over at the man on the couch. He gets up and crosses the room swiftly. He takes the phone from my hand. “Hi, Jimmy.” FWhip whispers. I hear a thump and he almost laughs out loud. “I think he dropped the phone.” There’s another couple moments of silence, and then “Is this real? You’re alive?!” ”In the flesh!” My brother chuckles. “You surprised?” There’s a moment of silence. “I thought I killed you.” Jimmy sobs. FWhips eyes widen. ”Oh, dude no! Even if I was dead, it wouldn’t be your fault, Solidarity! It was as much my fault as it was yours.” I can still hear Jimmy crying over the phone. I get up and pace across my study. It was a hobby of mine that I had apparently taken up the past few weeks. FWhip was still talking. Gandalf pounces onto my back and climbs into my head. This is rather tricky because he’s a very large cat, so half of his body is still on my shoulders. I pull him down into my arms and look into his large lavender eyes. I feel another vision coming on and fall to my knees. Not again, please. The past has been painful enough pain, and I've already had 2 this week. It’s not normal. //A young girl with orange hair and a matching boy run across a field together, the sun is shining. The kids are laughing. “I bet you a golden apple I can beat you there!” The boy calls, a gleam in his emerald eyes. “No brooms or magic.” He shouts. The girl rolls her eyes. “Fine, but you won't be laughing when you have to give me that golden apple!” She speeds up, her long hair streaming behind her like a cloak in the wind. The boy’s eyes widen. ”When did you get so fast, Gem?” ”When you started focusing on potions!” She stuck her tongue out at him over her shoulder. “I’m good at multitasking, FWhip!” FWhip looked frustrated. “No fair!” ”Totally is!” The girl slapped the door as she ran in, taunting the boy. “And you owe me a golden apple!” ”nuh uh!” ”That was the deal!” The girl shouts before it fades to black.// I'm once again laying on the floor, breathless. FWhip stands over me, familiar green eyes staring. I groan and sit up, Gandalf falling from my chest. My vision wavers, head spinning. “Vi-Vision.” I mumble, waving it off. He nods. “Ah.” He says slowly, rubbing my back. “You wanna- uh, talk?” ”You never did give me that golden apple you owed me.” I groan as he helps me up. he snorts and pushes me into the sofa. ”Oh forget it, you never told me you took up running. I thought you’d need a broom to beat me.” ”I told you, I’m just better like that.” I say, and then clench my teeth as I feel a migraine stab my head. “So, how’d things go with Jimmy?
