Click the flag and watch my crazy and cringy attempt at a PMV... DON'T CRY PEOPLE, THE JACKAL SURVIVES EVEN THOUGH THERE'S A POINT IN THE VIDEO WHERE IT REALLY DOESN'T LOOK LIKE IT (everything's blood-free)! Remix features vocals by @CorsicanWarrah :) -SPOILERS- So, the song tells the story of a Crow, a Jackal and someone called Wildcat Eyes who is probably a metaphor for something or other that live in the forest together. Jackal is half-dead and lies beneath the leaves, but in the night she wakes up to search for her lost love Wildcat Eyes. She finds him lying in the snow next to a tree and curls up next to him, but he wakes and is terrified to see another wild animal. He runs away, but Jackal reaches him at the top of a hill. She approaches him to confess her love for him, but he is so afraid of her that his instincts cause him to kill her. As she dies and falls back below the leaves, he looks into her eyes and grieves as he recognises her as the Jackal he once loved. Meanwhile, Crow flies away to tell the other birds that 'the cycle still goes on': i.e. Jackal is STILL ALIVE!!! :D :D :D I'm pretty sure this is a song about day and night, with Jackal as the night and Wildcat Eyes as the day; every dusk Jackal comes back to life to search for Wildcat, but every dawn Wildcat kills her and so on. To be honest I have no idea since I basically dreamt the whole thing. Alternatively, you could use my sister's theory: Jackal and Wildcat represent Luna and Celestia from MLP and this is the scene where Celestia banishes Luna.
The song is 'The Jackal's Tail' (instrumental version) created by yours truly messing around on GarageBand! Tell me what you think of the song (you can see inside and skip to the end chorus where it gets less repetitive and more interesting with me getting overenthusiastic on the drums)! If you want to use it for a project/sing it/make a music video, just ask (and just to say, I'm looking for singers!) Sing 'na na na'along to the trumpets in the chorus! It's fun! P.S. I know jackals don't live in snowy forests, but this is poetic licence! And, yes, I know it sounds like an Of Monsters and Men song, but I love Of Monsters and Men!
