Press the up and down arrow keys to move Sonic! Press SPACE to spin dash! Collect rings and item boxes! Item boxes can only be collected by spin dashing. Watch out for Badniks and Spikes! They'll take away your rings or end your game if you don't have any rings. To defeat Badniks, spin dash into them. However, this doesn't work on Spikes. Survive the boss battle against Robotnik, and you win!
