I awoke several hours later on a cot in the shelter. My entire body throbbed with pain from the fight with Garren. I felt a dangerous but soft presence next to me. It was Katarina. When she saw my eyes open, she sighed with relief. “You’re awake,” she said softly. “I thought you wouldn’t wake up again,” she said. I watched her move her hand, calloused from years of handling her bl@des. The rough surface cupped my cheek gently. “ Yeah, is Garren still here?” I asked. I sat up, letting out a weak pained sound. It was barely more than a whimper. “Yes, but he won’t hurt you, right, Garren?” she snapped. “I won’t,” Garren growled, hovering over Katarina’s shoulder to look at me. “Thank you, baby,” Katarina cooed. She turned to face him and ruffled his hair. I stood up, but then collapsed. Katarina caught me before I could hit the ground. I managed to sit myself in a chair as Garren and Katarina talked about the situation in Ionia. “So, Piltover has inhabited Ionia,” Garren said “Mhm, that means Zaun will get involved then,” Katarina said. They talked about this for a while until Garren stood up and bowed to Katarina. I watched him leave. After that, I stood up and turned to Katarina. I then said, “I have somewhere to be.”
