why I like Cloud Strife's character arc

I just watched a really good character analysis on him so I'm basically making all the good points that I really like, I will put the link to the video in the credits so u can watch it (i probs wont explain it as well as they did T-T) but uhh yeah lets get into it. :) .·͙*̩̩͙˚̩̥̩̥*̩̩̥͙　✩　*̩̩̥͙˚̩̥̩̥*̩̩͙‧͙ . HIS EARLY DAYS ╚═*.·:·.✧ ✦ ✧.·:·.*═╝ When Cloud grew up, he never had a male role model to look up to, since his father left when he was super little. Him lacking this is super important in his future actions. He also lacked friends, except for this pretty girl next door called Tifa who he had a little crush on but never really talked to her, he kept his distance. She kept inviting him to do some friend stuff, hang out with her and her friends, but he always declined. One day, Tifa was going to the Nibelheim reactor to loom for her mother, and Cloud, knowing it was dangerous, went along with her to protect and help her. When they got to the bridge, Cloud tried to convince Tifa to go back to the village since it was dangerous to stay out there. Then, she fell off the bridge, and (I think???? I'm not to sure what happened tbh dont trust me lol) he fell off the bridge as well. When they got saved from drowning/passing away, the town thought that Cloud was the one who put her in danger, and villianised him and made him feel excluded, ultimately making him more aggressive and lonely. Then, he heard about Sephiroth, this war hero that eveybody loved. He was strong, brave, and cared about, everything he wanted. So, when he was 13, he signed up for SOLDIER, to be just like his role model. He didn't get in, sadly. This is because, even though he was strong physically, they needed him to be strong MENTALLY. Why? Because they needed to put jenova cells and mako in the SOLDIERS, and people who are mentally unstable will get mako poisoned or even pass away. And our boi Cloud... is NOT mentally stable- So, he just becomes a shinra trooper, nothing really special. Then he meets Zack, SOLDIER 1st class. Now Zack is Clouds new role model/new friend he looks up to. Zacks admired, nice, and strong. They go on some missions, then one mission in Nibelheim (the infamous Sephiroth turning bad mission) (BTW CAN I JUST SAY i heard that Cloud was like a troop which we all know, but he didn't show his face to ANYONE when he was there because he felt that they would be dissapointed in him, thats why Tifa says in rebirth she doesnt remember him being there, but he was, he just didnt tell her or anyone excpet his mum) they almost pass away, but NOPE their saved... but not really. Hojo takes them and experiments on them with mako. Zack being SOLDIER, escapes after a while from one of the tubes. He saves Cloud and he's mako poisoned (since he's mentally unstable). Zack proceeds to carry Cloud to midgar (idk i forgot why), and puts Cloud in a SOLDIER uniform to help disguise him. Zack runs into some shinra troopers, and by how outnumbered he is, ultimately loses. Then, Cloud wakes up from his mako coma, see's Zack, then proceeds to talk to him before he passes. Zack says 'you have to live, you are my living legacy'. Then gives Cloud his buster sword. Whats really interesting is that Cloud doesnt grieve, he decides to forget. This is called 'denial'. Its a stage of the grief procces, making the person believe what just happened isnt real. Cloud makes up a story for himself, making himself SOLDIER 1st class, and that he never met Zack and didnt know who he was. He ultimatly believed this, and in the game, whenever someone says something about the past that he's forgotten about, he gets a sudden pain in his head, which means he's triggered by certain things. He subconciously knows the truth, but decides not to believe it, which i find SUPER interesting and like how they added it into the game. ‿︵‿︵୨˚̣̣̣͙୧ - - ୨˚̣̣̣͙୧‿︵‿︵ CLOUDS JOURNEY IN AVALANCHE ─┉┈◈◉◈┈┉ So when Cloud goes to Midgar, he meets Tifa again, and Tifa knows somethings up so she offers Cloud a job with Avalanche. He joins, and Cloud has changed his personality entirely. He's now this rude, confident person. He does some jobs, Sephiroth gives him visions about his past triggering Cloud. ₓ˚. ୭ ˚○◦˚.˚◦○˚ ୧ .˚ₓ AERITHS PASSING (ORIGINAL AND REMAKE) .・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。. ORIGINAL: ok so why I like the way they did the original is because when Aerith is stabbed, Cloud lunges forwards to catch her, and then proceeds to go through denial, then admitting that she's actually gone... that she cant talk or laugh anymore... that shes gone. Then, he wakes up in Gongaga (i forgot when) and Barret asks if they should keep going. Cloud then breaks down, and ADMITS that he's scared that he'll go crazy if he see's Sephiroth again, he's AFRAID... I found that really vulnerable of him and I love how they did that.
