Here's an example of me using scratch as a glorified art program. I use Krita and Medibang now, but I made art with Scratch's limited features despite how difficult it was. I used a laptop trackpad! I'm still surprised I didn't go insane from that. (Note: Coelacanth's wings... they got cut off at the end because I made her too low on the canvas... poor thing)
