It can be used for good. I don't want it to be gone or anything. I just think there should be more rules and things to make it less dangerous, and AI should not be stealing from people. If something is AI, it should be labeled as AI so people can't use it to fake being other people or to scam people. And I think human art will always be better than AI art no matter how much AI improves. I didn't add this in the project because it's not what the project is about, but I don't think scratch should add an AI image generator. I think scratch should be teaching kids to be hardworking and creative and to try new things (like learning to make art), not to generate slop. And if they want art in their project but don't want to make it, they can just ask artists on scratch until someone says yes. It's not like they need to pay artists on scratch to make them art because that's not even allowed, and I'm sure there are people on scratch who would say yes. And if they can't find anyone, they can just try to do it themselves or use a sprite or a Google image or smth. Why do they even want to add an image generator? Just because it's possible doesn't mean they should do it. Plus the AI prototype thing they're using is also stealing copyrighted art and images. Plus plus the images they generated looked TERRIFYING. (use this link https://medium.com/scratchteam-blog/inside-scratch-lab-ai-image-generation-179f11bd921a to see what I mean) Like the people with the swirly faces look horrifying. WAIT they look like the people from lacey games by ghosttundra when lacey's like "EVERYONE'S SO UNGRATEFUL I'M GONNA GIVE THEM SOMETHING TO EAT ALL RIGHT AGAGGAGA" and then the people come and eat the food lacey gave them and they look exactly like the AI images (from the video "lacey's diner" I think) (btw it's horror so maybe don't watch it unless you're 13+). Barely anyone's gonna know what I'm talking about here lol oh another argument I hear a lot is "AI doesn't steal images, it uses them as references just like humans do." In my opinion, I still think it's stealing. Humans are all different and have different brains and personalities. That's why we have different art styles and different things we like and different things we draw. When we use a reference to draw something, we're learning how to do something (anotamy, perspective, etc) in order to create something original. The original part is that it comes from ourselves. But AI is a machine that doesn't have a personality or brain or soul or anything. It just takes a bunch of images and makes you whatever you tell it to, with no unique style or anything (unless part of the prompt is to be in someone's style, but that's not the AI's style, it's the person's). Basically, human's art is unique because they have different personalities and brains and interests, which show through their art. But AI is just a soulless machine. Even if you don't agree with me, there are still harmful things AI can do with people's art. People can use AI to generate images in people's styles and then pretend to be them, or people can take someone's art, putting it through an AI to be slightly different, and then selling it, all without the artist's knowledge, consent and even if they say no. That happened to this person: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0i8UbfpWDr0&ab_channel=viyaura AI is already replacing people's jobs, and AI is only going to get better. Look how much it's improved in only a year. Imagine how it will be only ten years from now. And even if you don't mind AI taking your art, there are still people who DO mind, and they're feelings are just as valid as yours. wows this is nearly as long as the actual project ohtay I am shutting up now goodbyes ───────────────────────────────────
