So it was no surprise as he moved up the Sparkin ranks and became Ghost of Burning Rage’s second in command. He wasn’t a bragger when it came to his new role, simply focusing on doing what was needed of him. Then the unthinkable happened. Ghost had a half-blooded child. He never revealed the young one’s mother, simply stating that the Songals had killed her after the child’s birth, and Ghost was taking in his daughter. Oh, but Inferno would need to babysit. He was quite annoyed at first. Both at his leader for falling in love with one of the very creatures they sought retribution from, but also at this child, forcing him to interact with a Songal-blooded beast. However, as Night Lost in Flicker’s Grief grew, Inferno found himself growing somewhat fond of her. Similar to her maternal species, she showed a fascination for that which gleamed- not to the greedy all-encompassing fascination, but showing eagerness with the trinkets- but otherwise she showed absolute hatred toward the Songals. In fact, she’d sneak out of camp to tag along as Inferno went to burn up a caravan, showing nothing but interest and delight in the event, especially in nosing around and finding trinkets in the resulting ashes. Besides, he reasoned, if Songals killed her mother, her mother was an enemy to the Songals and not all that bad after all. As such, he eagerly looks forward to taking her on as an apprentice.
