Hello! I’m back with more silly roleplaying things.. - AND TODAY, I’ll be listing some types of RPers you’ll often find in various roleplays, along with WHAT type of roleplays they’re likely found in! And, hopefully by the end of this, you’ll be able to decide what kind of roleplayer you may be most like! (This may also help if you’re PLANNING on opening a RP) - TYPE 1: “beginner”. This type of roleplayer is usually either young, new to roleplaying, or tired. They usually start threads with one-to-two sentences, and aren’t really detailed in their descriptions. Example of what a “one sentence” roleplayer might start with: “Hazel was sitting down on a bench in the park.” ✨SIGNS THAT YOU MAY THIS TYPE OF ROLEPLAYER: -Your responses are usually short, and don’t take up an entire comment. -You’ve lost the joy of roleplaying, and you’re tired when RPing. -You’re new to roleplaying. .These types of roleplayers are found in almost every roleplay! We all start somewhere! — TYPE 2: “The intermediate” This type of roleplayer is a bit more experienced (in comparison to TYPE 1), and their responses usually take up an entire comment. Descriptions that this type of roleplayer may be more advanced, but not to the extent of the other types below. Example of what an “intermediate” roleplayer may use: “Hazel had a long day, and was now sitting on a brown, rusted bench in the nearby park. She stared up at the bright sun above her. ‘I wonder if anyone else is here..’ Hazel mutters.” ✨ SIGNS THAT YOU MAY BE THIS TYPE OF ROLEPLAYER: -Your responses take up 1-2 comments. -You’ve been roleplaying for a little while now, or you know how to write descriptions fairly well. - You’re in a lot of roleplays. (This is pretty common for these types of RPers!) .These types of roleplayers tend to hang out in more lore-intense roleplays! — TYPE 3: The “Description” Roleplayer. These types of roleplayers tend to have LOTS of things to say when in a thread. The writing may or may not be as “great”, but it’s still decent. They also tend to nag you when you don’t respond to their thread within 1-2 days/j. They’re often found in very active roleplays! (Mostly fantasy, as well) Example of a “description” Roleplayer (Because I used to be one): “Kian was sitting down on a rather pale wooden log near his favorite spot in the entire city- the lush park. Multiple trees surrounded him, making it hard to tell exactly where he was. The weather was quite nice today- a soft breeze and a semi-cloudy sky- all of this incited Kian to visit. However, they weren't feeling very confident as they usually were. It was easy to tell, for he wore his Anubis-inspired mask, (more like a fan-made mask) and that was very rare. Kian was holding a bright yellow book in his hands, but didn't seem to be interested in reading it. Rather, he was watching the birds fly around and annoy each other in the trees. "Where have all the others gone?" "I thought we all agreed to meet up here- oh wait, was that just a fantasy??" thoughts like these raced through his head, making it hard to focus on just simply birdwatching. Quite curious, they turn their head ever so slightly to try and spot any sign that their random thoughts weren't just fake. "Hello?" They call out, trying to sound confident. "Is anyone around? If so, may I aquire as to where you are??" Their tone gets more and more anxious as the sentence progresses. Eventually, they yell so loud (In a desperate attempt), that the birds that were in the trees scatter, flying off into the distance. After a while of nobody answering, Kian sighs, and looks down at the insect-infected ground in disappointment.” ✨ SIGNS YOU MAY BE THIS TYPE OF ROLEPLAYER: -Your responses are pretty long. -Your responses occasionally get off-topic - You’re really good at keeping a thread going. -You tend to use OOC a lot. (OOC: ‘out of character’) — TYPE 4: The “Advanced”. These types of roleplayers are confident (or at least pretend to be) in what they’re writing, and present it in their responses! The comment they write is usually 2-5 bubbles (comment bubbles, as I refer to them!), and contain an end that’s easy to go off-of. They’re often found in ANY type of roleplay, just not *typically* ones that require a base that you need to color to join! Example of this kind of RPer! (From me, again): ✨ SIGNS YOU MAY BE THIS TYPE OF ROLEPLAYER: -You’ve been roleplaying/writing (etc) for a long time. -You’re familiar with RPing terms. -You’re good at following storylines. -You join a lot of ORPs, but don’t tend to make them yourself. (+)
(CONTINUED HERE!) — TYPE 5: The “Professional” These types are highly skilled, often writing like..whole paragraphs in response. They tend to make very long character reference sheets, and are skilled in keeping a thread going. From what I’ve observed, they like to hang out in lore-intense RPs that require lots of reading to understand what’s going on. (Often fantasy roleplays) I don’t really have an example of this, because I honestly don’t think I’m this invested in roleplaying anymore. (You can look at my “Roleplaying Examples” studio, if interested!) ✨SIGNS THAT YOU MAY BE THIS KIND OF ROLEPLAYER: -You have all the skills of an “Advanced” roleplayer. -You’ve been roleplaying for a LONG time. -You’ve probably contributed in MAKING a RP. -Your responses are very long. -You make detailed character bios. -People are often complimenting your skills. — Afterwords: Though there are MANY types of roleplayers, I’m just listing the most common ones I see in various kinds of roleplays. IF YOU HAVE A SUGGESTION, please let me know in the comments! (I’ll likely add it to the description.) KEEP IN MIND, this was NOT meant to insult anyone!Have fun roleplaying! - @_rosies Curious about what terms I used, or want to improve your roleplaying skills?
