- hello there!! i’m hilda, and welcome to my gaehive manager application! in my free time [off of the hive] i love to crochet, draw, and read! i’ve been a member of the gaehive for two years now [wow i’m just realizing that’s a long time] and i’m in CDT currently, but sometimes i’m in CST [daylight savings is so rude…] i’m a teenager, and on school days, i’m typically online after school [around 5:00 pm CDT]. on the weekends, it depends. i make sure to stop by and say hi at least once a day though! here are a few reasons why i believe that i would be a good manager! 1. i have experience managing/hosting other studios in the past- i’ve made mistakes with those studios and i’ve learned from them, and that knowledge would help me be the best manager for the hive that i can be! 2. i am very active on the hive- i’m online as much as i can be [while making sure to take breaks for my health] and because of this, i can participate in a lot of studio activities- bandwagons, karma rewards, even just simple conversations with friends. 3. i like helping people when i can! i look in the discussion/advice studios very often and assist there when i’m able to ! 4. i am a VERY silly goose [/j] though there are plenty of reasons i would be a good manager, i do have flaws [shocking, i know] here are some possible downsides to me becoming a manager: 1. i am not good at reading the room- sometimes i accidentally start to make jokes when things are tense or there is something bad going on. even if i know there’s something bad going on and it shouldn’t be ignored, i’ll try to lighten the mood without even realizing it, just because it’s stressing me out that everybody is sad or angry. 2. i tend to hold grudges- if somebody has said something that i disagreed with or didn’t like in the past, i remember it, and i tend to talk to that person less. i never try to be rude to people, but in the back of my mind i keep thinking negative things about them even if i am exaggerating the past situation by a lot. some unique things that i could bring! 1. i have grapheme color synesthesia, which makes it so that i associate words, numbers, and letters with colors, which includes peoples’ names. in the past, i’ve posted comments asking for people to respond with names/usernames and i will tell them the color of it. a lot of people reply to those comments and it seems to be entertaining [at least i hope so]! 2. for some very strange reason that is unknown to me, i like making thumbnail IDs. i know a lot of the current managers see this as a chore, so i would be happy to help out with that! what i could improve about the studio: as probably the majority of you reading this know, we’ve had a lot of issues involving spammers and rule 6 breakages lately. i would like to help with this, as it’s disrupting the gaehive community. the managers influence the hive more than anybody else, so as a manager, if i were to create a project explaining how to spot spammers and what to do when you see them, i believe more people would pay attention to it than they would right now if i posted it as a curator. to me, becoming a manager of the gaehive firstly and most importantly entails making sure to be respectful and helpful no matter the situation. as i stated earlier, i do have some issues with having grudges or being biased against certain people, and i know that i would have to improve this. i am aware that the managers face a lot of critiques and hate lately, and i believe that i am prepared to handle that while maintaining kind conversations with people who disagree with me or other managers. as for my recommendations of other people! first of all, i believe that Dex [] would be a lovely manager! in all the time i’ve known him, i can’t recall a single moment where he was overly negative. it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense, but he just gives off nice person vibes ! second, Cobweb [] would make a very good manager. it is responsible, kind, and selfless. early this year, when the top 20 managers had been picked, it was in the top 20, and instead of just being happy for itself [like i was], it went around congratulating all the rest of the top 20 candidates. i remember seeing its message congratulating me in my inbox, and i was so happy!! I don’t know if Cobweb is applying this time around, but if it does, i definitely would recommend it! thank you for considering these people and me to be managers, and i hope all of you have wonderfully whimsical days/nights ! the song is ilomilo by billie eilish !
