a bit about me: i have been apart of this studio for around 3 years (i do not fully remember exactly when i joined, but it’s between 2-3 years ago.) im genderfluid, and bi, and use any pronouns but they/them. i am 15, and am in est. i am often online for most of the day, except for a few hours. i however am not often active on the weekends. ________ why i would be a good manager: i know i said before that i would likely not make the best manager, but i do have experience with managing things, both online and on scratch. i have helped out curating several SDS studios, which has an age group MUCH younger than the gaehive. i also help out a lot with kids irl, so im able to manage stress much better than i used to be. ________ some downsides: this is pretty obvious, but i sometimes have a quick temper, and don’t always assume good faith. while it is my biggest flaw, i am also working on improving it. i also have a habit of unintentionally breaking rule 9 specifically, though once again am working on it. i have also been in a bit of drama recently, but that was sorted out with the people involved. i also recently got banned, and though i have gotten my account back, i do not have the password right now. ________ unique things i could bring to the position: i have a lot of experience in terms of working with kids, something which could be valuable. i also work in theater, a place where there is near constant stress, and you are required to get along with castmates. that means i have experience at getting along with people even if i do not like them. i also am hellenistic, which i would use to help prevent people from making fun of or treating religions like fiction, something i’ve seen a lot of lately. ________ how i would improve the studio if i were promoted: i feel VERY heavily that curators should have a stronger say in what happens, and that everyone’s opinions should be voiced on things. i would take the time to hear out all sides of arguments to help settle disputes. i would also work on fixing the karma system, which i plan to make a separate project on. the karma system needs a rework, which i have several ideas for. i would also reward positivity, and make sure positive karma is counted more often, so if the karma system does stay, it will be above the negatives more often than not. i plan to do several studio wide events, such as gaehive bitlife, where the gaehive gets to control a character (while staying sfs), fully drawn out. i also think it would be fun to do studio wide trading cards as an event, where each user (who wants to), designs their cards, and said cards can be traded. i have an idea for a reward system in addition to the karma system, where curators who help out a ton can be rewarded points, which can be traded in for certain things such as: - a note at the end of the description - a thumbnail of their choice - a title of their choice events like this would not only encourage studio members to better follow the rules, but would also do so in a fun way. ________ what i think being a manager entails: 1. being able to handle high levels of stress, and keeping the studio positive. managers have to deal with several sources of stress, while keeping a level head. it requires the ability to be able to remain calm even while angry (something i admittedly need to work on.) 2. enforcing rules the studio can not and will not function properly without rules. that means, that even if it may upset people, as manager it is your job to enforce them. not only that, but they must be enforced equally. ________ other notes: anyway, once again very likely i will not be chosen considering my bad mental health towards the beginning of the year, but i would like to say i am very much working on improving that, and if i became manager i would make sure to be much more mindful of said mental health and how i deal with it! i am already working on improving how much i break rule 9, via keeping a journal, so i do not think it should be too big of a setback. i do understand that past drama and how i handled it negatively impact me as a possible candidate, and i am working on handling my anger better with a variety of coping skills. good luck to everyone ^_____^ ________
my recommendations @KARKITTY i’m fairly biased in terms of this, as i am friends with KARKAT, but i FIRMLY believe that he is the best choice for manager. he is very vocal on his thoughts and good at communicating and advocating for them. a prime example of this was regarding alterhumans and otherkin, and how they are treated often within the studio. he is able to express how he feels without being harsh, or caving into others, and i think that is an important quality to have in terms of leadership @ThePoolisDead wade is a fantastic choice for manager. he interacts with others a lot, yet is blunt enough not to let people get away with breaking the rules. he also has the most cohesive plan i’ve seen in his application, showing he puts much thought into helping the studio. _______ art by me!! this took me like 4 hours to make oh my god. art was sort of rushed since my hand cramped up super bad
