Press the green flag. This is an AMV of the song "History Has its Eyes on You" from the musical Hamilton told literally and figuratively through a female voice, and featuring influential women from around the world and all time periods. Who's a woman from history or current events that's really interesting or inspiring to you, and why? Let me know in a comment!
Why I made this project: "Herstory" is a play on the word history. History literally contains the word "his," a male pronoun, and unfortunately many history classes and texts tend to be dominated by "Great Men." This view often excludes lots of women who had to fight stigma and prejudice to make an impact. It my opinion, it's really important that people have role models that look like them, so that they realize that people like them can change the world. So I wanted to take the chance to highlight some influential women from history. Some of them you may have learned about in school, and some may be new to you, but all of them had a lasting impact on the world. Hopefully this will inspire you to learn more about influential women and realize that you, too, can make a lasting impact. Featuring: Joan of Arc, Harriet Tubman, Marie Curie, Empress Wu, Sonia Sotomayor, Ruth Bader Ginsberg, Ada Lovelace, Cleopatra, and Malala Yousafzai Music was written by Lin Manuel Miranda and sung by me.
