Chapter One: Just a normal day(or so she thought) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ari Morselli was having a normal day. Or normal by her standards. She was a demigod, and had never had a normal day in her life. Nero’s household, camp, quests, Tartarus, trauma, more quests, more trauma, the trials of Apollo, and finally, a break. The first break of her life. Her girlfriend, Angel, has been forcing her, of course. It isn’t optional. She was sitting in Sally Jackson’s apartment. Percy was at college, and Paul was at work. Ari was bouncing little Estelle to sleep when a knock came at the door. “Oh dear gawd,” Ari then got up and opened the door. “Look,” Ari sneered, “I just got this baby down. And you decide to knock on this door NOW????” Ari then finally had a moment to look at the person in front of her. He was in his 30s or 40s, with black hair, a black goatee, and brown eyes. He had a suit on that looked expensive. “Are you Aurelia Morselli, by any chance?” the man asked. Ari’s startling grey eyes narrowed. “Yeah, what’s it to ya?” “I would like to offer you a Stark Internship. May I come in?” Ari was skeptical. She had met many monsters who were undercover. Many did NOT end well. But she let him in anyway. She had her rings handy though, just in case. “Look, there is no internship,” Ari looked confused. “Well then why the h3!! are you here?” “The internship title is kind of a cover-up. Basically we want you to join the Avengers.” Ari looked even more confused. “The who?” “You know, the team of superheroes that save the world!” Awkward silence. Ari was absolutely clueless. The man sighed. “Look, this is a once in a lifetime chance. We’ve seen what you can do. Do you accept?” Ari thought about it. She didn’t even know who this guy was! How was she supposed to trust him? She has trust issues already. And he doesn’t look like the best man in the universe. “Fine.” Ari needed something to do anyways. The man smiled. “Great. I will see you tomorrow afternoon. My two daughters will pick you up at the bus station.” Ari curtly nodded, and the man left.
