✩ Iris!! ✩ She's probably going to remain using she/her ✩ That is to be decided ✩ I really like wattles, they're really pretty!✩ My most memorable one was Tigerlilyrose. She was around during Heatherstar. Uhh, she lost her family at a young age. Very tragic. Was a die hard loyal supporter of Heatherstar when many doubted her, and blamed most of the clan's shortcomings on the deputy, Tigerlilybee as she believed that it was her duty to look after the clan while Heatherstar was cursed. Murdered a few cats. May or may not have had some feelings for the deputy's child. Then she died. How, I can't remember. Went to the Dark forest. ✩ I'll be honest I haven't had that many. My first one died as an apprentice during the war between Moss and Flurryclan. Another died sneaking out of camp. Tigerlilyrose made a while. Another died of hunger. ✩ Iris is a rather reserved cat and observant cat. She notices all the little details that others would usually miss, nothing escaping the sharp ears of hers. With her reserved nature, she doesn't open up or talk about her self very often, bottling up her emotions or dealing with them in her own quiet ways. Iris tends to be a insecure at times, one of her greatest fears is to be inferior, the few times she explores a more brash nature is to prove herself stronger and better. Really, she just has a low social battery. Even though she always tries to see the best in others, Iris can prove to be a bitter and jealous cat on the inside, only ever letting small fragments of her resent slip through. She is, however, persistent and unshakable in her goals, hardly anything able to deter her from her intentions. She may even go a little too far, however, as she may end up breaking a few bonds and stepping over lines which should never have been crossed in her journey. She really isn't much of a risk taker, carefully taking into consideration each decision into consideration, maybe even overthinking it at times. To those she is extremely close with, she may even be a bit of a dramatic, adopting a more playful and expressive nature. 'close' could be only one or two others. Maybe even her parents or siblings don't get to know it. She can be a bit hypocritical at times, without even realising it. Sometimes she just judges others before herself. ✩ (+) Persistent, ambitious, observant, careful, optimistic (=) Reserved, dramatic (-) Insecure, jealous, hypocritical, deceitful. ✩ Being cross-eyed, or strabismus is due to the muscles that control eye movement being too short, therefore making the eyes point more towards the nose. Majority of the times, it is inherited from birth and rather harmless. However, she may have trouble with depth perception and judging distances. (Wooten, 2020). This will cause her to trip or accidentally run into things often, meaning that she will always be rather conscious of her surroundings. (Problems with Depth Perception, n.d.). A feline's hearing is absolutely amazing, having 32 muscles in the outer ear while humans only have 6, so she would be able to judge the relative distance of her prey, albeit not as accurate as one with the correct depth perception would be able to. Things come up and things happen which may, if not will definitely sway character arcs. So I'm kind of going with the flow of things. One thing I know for certain, however, is that I absolutely want her character to develop- for the better or for the worse. I would hate to have her existence just be in a stasis, and her personality and outlook on life to always be the exact same. My personality and view of life now from say, 5 years ago are different, and I intend for the same sort of thing to apply to her, or at least the have her actions and the weight of each trait shift. Situations change, and people/ characters change along with it. Her ability to hunt and catch prey will not be perfect, as depth perception is required in order to accurately gauge how far the critter is.
