>===<Chapter One>===< Clitter-clatter, clitter-clatter... I open my eyes to see Father pacing outside. There was metal that seemed attached to one of his legs, and it kept hitting rocks and twigs. I groan. "Daaad, I was sleeping!" I cry, sheilding my eyes from the blaring sun with my paw. He turns to me. "Oh... sorry, Violet, I just..." he sighs. I walk over. "It's ok, Dad. Stop worrying!" suddenly my face lights up. "Hey! You promised to take me into town today!" I say excitedly. My smile drops when he speaks again. "Violet, I'm sorry, but not today, ok, honey? I'm really tired-" "Again!?!" I snap. "B- but you promised! EVERY TIME you promise, and EVERY TIME you just say 'Oh, but I'm too tired' BLAH BLAH BLAH!! I'm SICK and TIRED of sitting around in this stinky old rabbit hole while others are out there hunting and playing and ENJOYING THEIR LIVES!!! I've had ENOUGH, Dad. I want to see the world! I want to have friends! I want to hunt and play in trees and open fields and see all the places they see! Instead, I'm stuck trapped in an abandoned burrow my whole life. It's not fair, Dad, but I guess you would never understand." I storm off, pulling moss over my ears as I arrive at my empty room in this empty burrow I called home. I see a book over in the corner - the only book I'd ever seen, let alone read. Father had given me it as a cub, and taught me to read. I smile and open it up. This was a classic foxtail, one every cub and every Mother and Father and every loner had heard. It was 'The Wildlands Venture', where five brave Harper Foxes set off to the Wildlands but are ambushed and only one returned. Wildcard, Father, the one I had just yelled at. He had led them. There was him, Carlice, Uncle Joey, Uncle Shatter, and Vulpes. Carlice was my mother and Dad's mate, Uncle Joey and Uncle Shatter were his brothers, and Vulpes was a Wildlands expert who I'm sure Joey had a crush on! >===<Others>===< Signup//blurb=featured project for now Ch.1=this chapter!
