Hey guys! This is the first chapter of my short Marvel stories called Avengers: Earths Mightiest Family, which focuses on the six main Avengers doing anything from saving the world to doing every day activities! Its going to be mostly fluff and probably really silly lmao. I started this for fun so please excuse my lazy/bad writing, also I did most of this at like 3 a.m. Anyways, enjoy! :D ---- Steve woke up to the sound of his alarm. It was early in the morning, too early for any of the other avengers to be awake, allowing Steve to enjoy whatever peace he could before the others woke up, as the rest of the day was usually dedicated to protecting the world. Or so he thought. As Steve entered the main sitting area of the Avengers tower he saw that someone was already there, looking out the large glass windows. “Black Widow, I didn't expect you to be awake at this time” Steve said with a smile. Natasha turns around to face the Captain. “Well, gotta keep you guys guessing. It's kind of what being a spy's about" she replied. She was wearing her Black Widow uniform, which contrasted Steve’s star spangled Captain America suit, she must have been out on patrol. Her arms were folded, as though she was holding herself. “Are you hungry?” Steve asked. “Are you going to make breakfast?” She asked sarcastically. “Just because I'm Captain America doesn't mean I can't cook Natasha” “Now what is this heavenly smell blessing my olfactory system?” said a voice from above the stars. When Tony saw Steve serving Bruce an omelet, he was very surprised. He stood next to Natasha who was enjoying a plate of pancakes. Tony saw that Steve was not wearing his uniform, rather a t-shirt and jeans, meaning it was the Captain’s day off. It was rare for Steve to take breaks, but whenever he did, he tried to make them as lucrative as possible. “You know what, pretend I didn't say anything” Tony said, watching Steve mix a new bowl of pancake batter. “Good morning to you too, Tony. Now how about some pancakes?” Steve offered him. Tony raised an eyebrow at him, and Natasha added, “they're really good”. He sighed and took a seat next to her, “well if the deadly Russian spy says they’re good then I guess I can’t argue”. Tony took a bite and smiled, then noticed Steve looking, and quickly changed his expression. Steve chuckled to himself as he finished up with the final dish, which he left for Clint who was still sleeping. He asked Bruce when Thor would be returning from his trip to Asgard, who said that he would be back next week. Everyone went to get ready for the day, but when tony was in his room he didn't activate his Iron man suit. He planned to one-up Cap. Just like yesterday Steve woke up, thinking about the different ways the day could go, but as he descended downstairs he noticed how good it smelled. Natasha, Bruce, and Clint were sitting around the counter as Tony served them waffles and toast and coffee. Steve was surprised, because last he checked Tony Stark did not cook, and Clint never wakes up this early. “Have a seat cap, the waffles are fresh” Said Tony, who offered him a plate of blueberry waffles. Steve took them and sat next to Clint, who was frowning at his empty plate. “What's wrong Clint?” Asked Steve. “I thought you were making breakfast today, that's why I woke up early” He mumbled. Tony heard this and raised an eyebrow at him, who then added, “your cooking is great Tony, don't get me wrong” Steve watched the other Avengers go off to do their own things, but stayed in the kitchen. He knew what Tony was doing, and was willing to play along. Steve woke up extra early the next day so he could get to the kitchen, and started on breakfast. Everyone was enjoying it, even Clint who had woken up early again, everyone except for Tony. For the rest of the week Tony and Steve would compete for ‘the best breakfast’, which was judged by Natasha, Bruce, and Clint. The three obliged in their games since it was the only way to keep them from destroying the tower. But it was soon getting out of hand. [continues below)
The Black Widow had just returned from another patrol when she heard a struggle from somewhere in the tower. She carefully stepped closer to the noise, not making any of her own. She had her g/n at the ready, but when she turned the corner to face the intruder, she only saw Captain America and Iron man, trying to keep each other from reaching the kitchen first. She sighed and put her w//pon away, and looked at the two men like a disappointed mother would her children. “Are you guys serious?" She said, “Yes Nat, we are very serious,” said Tony, trying to release Steve’s grip on his wrist. "Thor's coming back today and he's gonna decide who makes breakfast better” “Thor is going to decide what?” Said the friendly voice. The three avengers turned around to see their Asgardian friend, wearing his large cape and Mijolnair in his hand. They placed the hammer on the counter and hugged Steve and Tony. “Their breakfast making skills. They’ve been at it all week, cooking in the morning to see who's better, and they will not stop asking. Now they need the final verdict from you lord of thunder” Explained Natasha. To this Thor laughed, telling them that he had already had the meal at his home in Asgard. Now who is to judge their cooking skills now? Tony made a call, which wasn't much but a few words. “I got a judge. Hopefully he’ll be here soon since it's the weekend, now all we have to do is make breakfast” Said Tony. The kitchen was chaos. The Avengers watched as Captain America and Iron Man competitively put together dishes on their sides of the kitchen. It was like watching a reality cooking show finale. “When do we get to eat?” Said Clint, slouching on the couch with his arms crossed. “When our judge has decided on who makes the best breakfast in Avengers tower” Said Tony. At that moment the tower door bell rang, “That must be him!” he added. Natasha and Bruce went to bring in their judge as the chefs were plating their dishes with utter chaos. Steve was trying to make his pancakes look perfect and Tony was running around looking for the powdered sugar. Soon Nat and Bruce returned, behind them was Peter Parker. “You called in the pipsqueak?” Said Clint, frowning. Peter put his backpack down next to a barstool, excited to be in the avengers tower. “Hey Mr. Stark! Mr. Rodgers! Man, it sure smells great in here” He said looking at the food laid out for him. “Well Peter, the table is all yours” Said Steve. He and Tony sat down as Peter decided which to try first; Steve’s pancakes, eggs, and toast or Tony’s waffles, bacon and yogurt? When he pulled Steve's plate towards him, Tony frowned. Cap was smiling, confident in his skills. The crew awkwardly watched Peter eat in silence. As soon as he finished Tony and Steve were asking him questions. “C’mon kid spill it” Said Tony. “Alright, alright. So… Mr. Rodgers yours was amazing. Super good, especially the pancakes. Mr. Stark what you made was good too, but, um- there was something” Peter said nervously, running his hand through his brown hair. Tony raised an eyebrow in question. “The bacon was great Mr. Stark, but, were you supposed to put baking powder on the waffles?” The room erupted in laughs, mostly from Clint, as Tony sighed, mumbling to himself about kitchen organization. “Sorry Mr. Stark, but Mr. Rodgers wins” Said Peter, smiling sheepishly. Steve smiled, placing a hand over Tony’s shoulder, and said, “It’s alright Tony, you can still make breakfast every now and then. Just maybe label the powdered sugar next time” Tony sighed again, and told everyone that he was going to be in his lab for the rest of the day. The other avengers were getting ready for work as well, until Clint said, “But what about breakfast? Can you make me some Steve? I can barely cook” Clint looked at Steve with puppy eyes, how could Steve say no? Plus, Captain America was supposed to be a hero to everyone, not just people in danger, but also to hungry friends. ---- I want to dedicate this chapter to Pink, who constantly pushed me to post this loll (Pink if ur reading this, thx) Characters belong to Marvel, story by me! please don't steal or at least credit me if your using it.
