So in this past week (as of share date, haha), I've been speedrunning a poetry portfolio as an entry to a competition. I'm allowed to have five poems, but I ended up with six, so I had to pick one to scrap. Of all of them, I thought this one was the weakest and didn't fit with my theme as well, so I put this in a separate document and decided to come back to it slightly later. Anyway, I spent a bit of time today editing this a bit and all of that. The initial idea for this came from something I wrote when I was kind of in a daze, sometime between November and February, probably. It was one of those little poems that you put in a massive document of all those ✨poetic thoughts✨ you have (or maybe that's just a me thing...) and then forget about pretty much immediately afterward. While I was searching for inspiration for my portfolio, I happened to come across this again and decided to expand on it. So...here you all are! It's still definitely not my best work, haha, but I hope you enjoy it nonetheless. Additionally, I do hope to publish the portfolio here at some point, but I can't do that currently, as the competition rules stipulate that it must be an unpublished piece </3 ~ Word count: 275 words ~ Background photo by Chan Hoi on Unsplash
