Lots of people ask me, "what's that apology project you made?" They ask, "did your friend die?!" To me, it's worse than that. Let me tell you. It was my first day a school. I was about 4 at the time. In kindergarten. Everyone was playing with toys, on the ipads, having fun. I walked in, and with no hesitation, I sat in a corner. Staring at the floor. My teacher asked me if I was ok. I said nothing. I had my first recess break sitting where no one was. No one could see me. It was like that for 2 years. In first grade (or year 1) we had free time. Everyone rushed to get an ipad, and some kids had to share them. The room was filled with shouting and laughter; something I didn't like. I lifted a desk, brought it to a corner, and went under it with a book to read. I sat there and read. This kid Levi came up to me. He was one of the school bullies. I disliked Levi. He's a bully after all. Kids became bullies quite quickly. Levi was one since pre-primary. He knocked the desk over, pushing it out of the way. He grabbed me by the shirt like I was some toy. "So you like reading? Nerd?" He asked me, towering over my body. I stood there. Saying nothing. "Answer me! Don't be rude!" He was the rude one. Then, something took control over me. Something i call, "the thing". My head tilted sideways. A creepy smile covered my face. I stood there, giggling. Or, it wasn't me. Levi stood there with a feared face, still holding my shirt. My teacher shouted. "Keep your hands to yourself Levi!" He lost grip of my shirt entirely. My face went back to normal. Instead this time, I was scared. Not of Levi. Of the thing. I rushed back, pulling the desk into the corner, sitting under it. I was looking at the floor. My heart felt like an earthquake. It was beating so fast and heavy. A girl sat next to me. Her name was Leah. "You okay?" She asked. I sat there with no words. "You don't look ok." She said. I still sat there. "See you at lunch?" She asked. I nodded. I finally had a friend. Sort of. She was my only friend for a while. One day, the same thing happened again. Only this time, it was worse. Levi grabbed me by the shirt. The thing came. It was mad. No, it was happy. I pounced at him. Crawling like h3ll. My teacher held me back, like I was an animal held hostage. Actually, I was. My clawed hands scratched against the table, making a giant crack, almost splitting it in half. I controlled myself. I pushed back against the thing. I fell back and I was normal. That day on, Leah was very concerned and worried about me. Everyone saw "the incident". Instead of people calling me names like "the shirt that never fits or, number three in the game for two" and saying things like, "you don't belong here or, your to in over your head", they would just call me "the incident". So, from that day on I sat alone at lunch. I hid from everyone. Leah looked for me continuously. I was never there. That went on for another two years. One day, I decided to stop hiding. I walked over to Leah, who was in the library. "Hi" I said. "Oh! Hi!" Leah answered. "What's your name?" I stood there with confusion. The teachers didn't remember me. No one did. A few weeks later I had to move school. In third grade. Leah didn't remember me in the slightest. I heard a whisper in my ear. A voice that sounded like me. "Dont hold back." The thing said. I looked at my hands. They were shaking. I still remember Leah. She was a great friend. But, I wasn't there for her. So don't let your guard down. For anyone. You can lose your loved ones. If you actually read until here, I appreciate it. Thanks for your time, reading this.
The thing. It demises you. This is a true story. Trust yourself. No matter what. If you ever ask me, what's, "the thing?", this is it. It's just me. Only evil. Not those "villain" evil. A true evil. Just cruel.
