At home, Michaela pondered her experience with Anton. Michaela felt like Anton was in a daze. Or maybe he was crazy. He kept talking about why and wishes. And almost every expirience she has ever had included a "Maria" being mentioned. "Maybe Granny will know who Maria is, if she is a Furitiv." Michaela mumbled. She walked into the kitchen and found her grandmother baking cookies. "Gran, can I ask you a question?" Michaela asked. "Of course, Micky! What do you need?" Her tone sounded happier than usual. "Is there a Maria in our family?" At the word Maria, Michaela's grandmother dropped the bowl she was carrying. "Who told you that name?" She hissed, her previous happy attitude quickly turning into despise. "I-er, a boy..." Michaela said, her voice drifting off. She'd never seen her grandma upset, much less angry. "Who? Who, Michaela?" "A-Anton." Michaela squeaked. Her grandmother punched the counter. "That stupid, stupid boy! He just can't get enough of this family! Even a thousand years couldn't cure his immaturity." "Wh-what?" Michaela was so confused. Her grandma knows Anton? A thousand years? What? "Listen, Michaela. You need to forget-" The doorbell rang, cutting off the rest of her words. "I-I'll get it." Michaela quickly hurried toward the front door and opened it to find Anton. "Anton, you need to get out of here!" Michaela said, wide-eyed. "Who is it?" Her grandmother's voice yelled from the kitchen. "I dont know what you did, or what got my gran so upset, but I think she hates you." Michaela said. "I need to talk." Anton said. "Michaela! Who is it?" Her grandma repeated. "Go back to the forest. To the pond." She said before shutting the door in his face right as her grandma came walking into the room. "Who was it, Michaela?" Her voice was harsh. harsher than Michaela had ever heard before. "I-er-uh" "It was him, wasn't it." She wasn't asking a question, she was making a statement. Somehow, Michaela's grandmother could tell. "Michaela Lora Furitiv, you will forget you ever saw that boy. You will ignore him, and pretend you dont know him." "Why?" Michaela asked. "Dont question me." With that, her grandmother left the room and slammed her bedroom door.
