Hey gang! The karma system has received a fair bit of criticism lately, so the managers have decided to trial run a new comment closure system, to see if it's more effective! It aims to better prompt users to consider their behaviour and implements more frequent closures after rulebreaking. It'll be called the points counter for now, because I cannot think of a better name. How it works: TLDR; Counter starts at 15, positive comments +1, negative comments -1, once 0 is hit, there will be a 45-minute comment closure. After comment closure, counter is reset to 15. >> The counter will begin at 15. >> Just like the karma system, every negative comment drops the counter by 1, and every positive comment raises it by 1. >> If the counter hits 0, we immediately have a comment closure for a certain period of time. We'll start with 30 minutes. >> During this time, no alternate Gaehive studios should be utilised, and we encourage you taking this time to take a break and do something else! Try not to head to any other chat studios in general. If you're having trouble finding things to do, check out this list! https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1163894361/ >> After the closure finishes, the counter will be reset. >> If there are multiple closures during a 24-hour time period, the length of a closure will increase by 15 minutes each time one occurs. i.e. The first closure will be 30 minutes long. The second, 45 minutes, The third, 1 hour, and so on. >> Any questions or feedback, let one of the managers know.
