Chapter three *WENSDAY* I woke up after having no dreams, I felt off, like I was overheating in a cold sweat. I wobbled downstairs and overheard Dad talking on the phone, "No. No. Yes sir. No sir. Yes. No. Right. Can I just- ... yes sir. I'm sorry sir..." There was a beep that let me know that the call had been ended. It seemed like Dad was getting called in early again. I wish he could eat breakfast with me and Josh more often. He called for us as usual: "Kids!! Breakfast!" And then sighed, muttering about his strict boss, before leaving out the front door with a : "Sorry-kids-i-gotta-go-early-love-you-bye-" and was out through the front before I could tell him I felt ill. I didn't eat breakfast and Josh didn't come down, as usual. The bus ride was remarkably quiet, but I had another phantom shift, a very soft and fluffy tail of some kind, I didn't know yet. I was settling into the idea I may very well be an alterhuman, and that's okay. We were about three bus stops away from school when a new girl got on. She had short, choppy brunette hair, with a short undertone dye-job of pink, compared to my long and sleek dark gray hair my mom never wanted me to cut. This girl had stickers all over her face, compared to my bandaids. She had eyes that shifted so fast i couldn't tell if they were gold, blue, or both. And compared to my dark blue eyes that could never be light enough to be "pretty" she was a ray of sunshine. she had glasses but they were propped up her head. She was... gorgeous. Now, don't get me wrong, I know that I'm bisexual, and I know that I like girls just a teeeeennnie bit more them boys in general, but this new girl was so pretty, I wanted to be her friend. And that's when I saw it. A soft looking and fluffy coyote tail. My phantom tail wagged. I saw her and said "psst- over here" she met my eyes and my heart skipped. She sat down next to me with and enthusiastic "hello! My names Autumn!! What's yours?" I couldn't help but stutter a bit, " A-April, I like your tail. Are you a coyote therian by chance?" She beamed "Omg yes I am!!! Are you a therian too??" I hesitated before replying: "I don't know, I think I am, I keep getting phantom shifts and dreamshifts and I really feel like this might be why." She smiled. That made me feel warm. "Awh that's okay! I can help you find your theriotype!! O-oh, well I mean, if you want to be friends.." She seemed embarrassed, and kind of sad after thinking I may not want to be her friend. "Of course I want to be your friend! I would love your help." Just then we got to school, and me and Autumn had all the same classes, and that's when I knew, we would be friends for a long time to come. END (sorry to the two people that actually read this lol I've been doing this with the thumbnail and the chapter for over an hour and my brain hurts, I'll make a longer chapter next time)
