TURBO MODE REQUIRED (shift click the flag) Quick concept I threw together for realistic terrain generation, simulating the folding of the crust. Multiple points are created, each one attracted to each other, and repelled when too close. This creates pressure, and if pressure reaches a threshold, it will create a crack. This allows terrain to move freely at the point, creating mountains. When plates collide in real life, like at the himalayas, this is what happens. Developement time is how long the program has to simulate, crust thickness influences how easily joints form, pressure can create more joints and causes higher mountains, and dampening cuts sharp corners. each pixel is 5 in-game tiles, each bar marks 50 tiles (100 ft). IRL, each bar would be more like 2,000 ft.
