Apparently I need to put this at the top now... YOU ARE ONLY ALLOWED TO USE THE SONGS IN THE PROJECT :sob: OKAY UM. I'm gonna just... put this coding contest out here and see how it does. Instead of a template cat, you get my boy Hal. Have fun. 1. Rules 2. How to increase chances of winning 3. Prizes RULES: If you enter, please join this studio when you get the invite: https://scratch.mit.edu/studios/35584561/ This is so I can notify all participants of the results without messaging a bunch of people. No need to ask to enter, but please tell me if you are so I can invite you to the studio. - You are ONLY allowed to use the songs in the project. - You may have up to 3 entries. - You are allowed to edit the songs. I request that you do not change the pitch of them, but everything else is free game. - The hands are the ONLY optional part. Everything else is required. - You MUST use Hal. You can use your own character/art for any additional characters. - Feel free to add more faces, hands, etc. - No ripping off other's work. Everything in your entry MUST be your own. You may use code from others but you must credit them and have at least 80% of code be yours. - Don't guilt-trip or put others down. - Don't break Scratch guidelines. This one should be a no-brainer. - Animations only, please. You may make them interactive if you would like, but no games. - Please don't ask to be a PG since I do not reward follows. You will be ignored. My judging style is "quality over quantity". Stuffing your entry with as many effects as possible is not going to give you a higher chance at winning. Failure to comply with these rules will result in instant disqualification. Speaking of "higher chance at winning"... here are some things that can give you that: - Compiling the character parts in one sprite - Cam control - Making it FPS independent (FPSI) - Diversity (ex: more than one "bop", cutscenes) - Good effects. Enough to make the entry look good, but not so much that it looks cluttered. - Smooth movements - As few sprites as possible - Using the entirety of the audio you chose. I mean actually having some sort of animation during those parts. Just having a static image or blank screen for a large portion of the audio will not count and can actually *hurt* your chances. - Just aesthetically pleasing to look at. Good color choices which actually fit the song. The following will hurt your chances: - No effects - ...or too many effects/improperly placed effects. - Too many sprites - It's clear you didn't even try. Come on. PRIZES: It's all art. I don't do follows or favorites for prizes. More may come, but this is it for now. 1st: Guaranteed remix of entry, fully rendered halfbody and PFP 2nd: Fully rendered halfbody and PFP 3rd: PFP Deadline will be decided when this reaches 20 entries.
Music credits are in project. Artwork and character are mine.
